The strategic icons for units usually don't appear when running PA on OSX 10.9 (yes, I have got them set to "always show"). This seems to be erratic: sometimes a reset will solve the problem and they show up, but usually not. Frequently only the icons for buildings are visible, but those for units are not. In a game like PA with such large scales, this problem is a game-killer!
Don't worry, I'm not that dim! I had a look through the bug tracker and it seems that I'm not the only one who's had this problem, so I've upvoted that task.
