I've played a couple of games where I was attacked by the laser platform while having an umbrella and enough energy but the umbrella is not doing anything and gets destroyed by the laser platform.
Make sure you have an orbital and deepspace radar. At the moment it barely works and needs to be manually microed.
Is that final or should the the umbrella always work (automatically when having enough energy) in the final game? I think the umbrella with enough energy should alway auto detect and shoot orbital units.
what do you mean by Auto detect? you can´t shoot at what you can´t see ... that´s why you either have to scout with avengers or have orbital Radar coverage
Than why build an umbrella at all if it only can be used in combination with other orbital units? Than you would be better off just building avengers cause they are a lot cheaper, can shoot, move and detect. I thought an umbrella should protect your base from orbital units not having to build orbital at all.
I'm pretty sure the umbrella is supposed to auto-fire at anything you can see or that Deep Space Radar can detect. It seems inconsistent though. For sure there have been times where I have to manually target the laser platform to get my umbrella to fire at it but other times it seems to work on its own. In each case I have a deep space radar and the energy to run it. Maybe it's something like....umbrellas can't see anything that got built before you put your deep space radar up. I dunno. Just a guess. (edit: I keep calling the umbrella a catapult)
Radar plain and simple...... should be a higher priority than even the orbital launcher....... it is for me anyways.I like to have eyes on the first sissy to kick rocks, and of course those trying to laser me
