I have just completely reinstalled windows (8.1 Pro x64) with both the newest AMD drivers, and the AMD beta drivers (reinstalling windows each time) and still get "PA.exe has stopped working" error a few seconds-minutes after every game starts.

I've found that when I run the 32bit version of PA, it works without crashing...

    I have the same problem.
    Where can I report it?
    What do you need?

In my case the 32bit version doesn't work either.

    I'm using Windows 7 64-bit and Steam

    Hardware:
    Intel Core 2 Duo E8400
    ATI Radeon HD4870

I'm also having the same issue after buying off steam and letting it running the installer.

If I have a steam copy can I download a installer externally?

Most likely your problem caused by built-in drivers of Windows 8/8.1:
    Code:
       Operating System: Windows 8.1 64-bit (6.3, Build 9600) (9600.winblue_gdr.140330-1035)
Card name: ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM v1.1)
       Driver Date/Size: 4/26/2013 00:28:10, 1103904 bytes
You have AMD legacy graphics drivers that distributed together win Windows 8+, but those lack of OpenGL support and this is why game crash. Unfortunately AMD drivers installer unable to replace drivers properly so you need to do that manually using this how-to:

In my case it doesn't happen right after the start. I will test and give feedback. Maybe I found an other matching thread for my problem.
