I just thought, I never said why, but then again anyone who's played me will know I have a piss-poor connection.
I used Chrome until FireFox 4 came out. FireFox 3 was the most atrocious bloatware I've seen since Nero Burning ROM. FireFox 4 has at least half the memory requirement, and a more streamlined interface. Sayonara, Chrome.
I use ie9 (RC) and ie8 mostly (work and home.. although I'll upgrade home soon) but I do have chrome and firefox installed too. I used to work in a web development company.. guess it shows in my browser habits. Just be glad i don't use ie6 and ie7 just to make sure everything looks the same
I use Opera too as main browser. Firefox has better tools for web development though, so that's what I use at work.
I asked that to those who have used both, I'm too lazy to see what the hype is about Firefox. I just use Chrome because that's what I'm used to, and I'm sure you use Firefox for a similar reason  So what are it's main features?
To be 100% honest when it comes to actual, practical use (especially with ie9 bringing microsoft back into the race and ff4 being so smoothe) there's no real reason other than personal preference to use one browser over another. I'm used to ie and the dev tools it now has are just as good as firebug so I mainly just keep using ie. I can see that both chrome and ff are pretty good and use them occasionally but 0.5 seconds difference in page load really doesn't make a difference to me when I'm browsing
As far as I'm aware, Chrome's schtick is speed and Firefox's schtick is being a secure browser. I therefore use Chrome because, well just play me and see what lag is.
Firefox is not a secure browser by default because too many people use it. Chrome on the other hand is more secure and Google actually does a good job at updating it. Don't know if Firefox 4 has the sandbox but that's another good thing about Chrome.
I'm sure IE is worse for the same reason, but we're not really discussing that. I guess IE to most people is the browser you use to download a new browser.
The most popular browser is always the "least secure" simply because it becomes the biggest target. If chrome owned 50% of the browser market you can bet there would be exploits for it popping up all over the place no matter how secure they made it. It's like burglar bars and barbed wire fencing: they don't actually stop anyone from breaking into your house... they just make your house a less attractive target. No matter how well barricaded your house is, if you've got the holy grail in there Indiana Jones will find his way in!
