Black thing above the game (all the time)

Screenshot taken on the game. I pressed something (and wasn't developer console) and this thing above the game (you can see that on the ss) appeared. It just goes away during loadings, but appears anywhere else.

Probably a corrupted .ini file.

Try going to;

\Documents\My Games\UnrealEngine3\HostileGame\Config\

Make a backup of all .ini files in there, then delete them. Restart your MNC and it should (hopefully) make new ones.

Can't remember where other .ini files are held, but you could do a search for them in your steam folder and your MyGames folder above and trying the same thing with them, if the above doesn't work.

Failed to find default engine .ini file to retrive My Documents subdirectory to use. Force quitting.

This appeared after I've done what you said. Tried putting the .ini files back in the My Games folder but didn't solve the problem.

EDIT: Put the files back in Steam folder and the game opened, but the black thing still appears.

EDIT2: I should have tried this before posting: putting the files back in Steam folder but removing the ones from My Games worked. It kind of reseted the video configs (resolution, quality, vsync...) and the thing disappeared. A big THANK YOU, buddy =D
