"Biologicals"

    These would be planet based species living on the planet your commander is sent to reclaim. They could be ai controlled, slow producing, but initially (perhaps) well armed, with cities, etc.

    These would be the equivalents of barbarians in civilization, not much threat to your commander, but a hazard to lonely engineers. They would be terrified at your invasion of their planet and need to be removed for optimal efficiency of your reclamation project.

    They would have most the equivalent of level 1 units, perhaps with some "capital ship" level two units (eg Air Craft carrier). They would not be able to expand their bases (on the PA time frame) but would have decent armies to start with. Their units would look different from PA units. Creating units would take about 5 times the speed of standard PA factories. They could even start as multiple factions in the beginning, but after the PA invasion reaches a certain level, combine together in a desperate (but futile) bid for survival.

    Best of all, while destroying their cities you would hear their pathetic screams...

    Things like that have been talked about.

    For the release, there will be only one faction.

    However, there's lots of modders chomping at the bit to add new units, factions, and more. So we'll probably see something like this in the future.

    Fun idea though.
