Things filled up pretty quick and everyone did well...
Even for those who were new to playing pms everyone did well and no one raged

The pm list is filling up quite well and again i urge anyone who wants to play send
    Gamer tag: mnc pm list
    a message or friend request....

The only problem we encountered during the games were people buying turrets on other nubs then the money ball ones.. you can build and upgrade those but you can't buy or add other turrets.

We will also let other people be captains and pick out who they want...
Anyone who got picked last don't feel left out cause the ones who were picked last did well last night.

Leo and scratchy who are both new to pms did well for never playing pms before

We will be doing some more matches tonight 7pm-10pm eastern time.. if your on we will send a invite.. first come first served.. others will be in waiting rotation to get in...

Meaning if you want to play send a message to the gt or me or random toon and we will put you in priority sequence.

Again don't feel discouraged if your picked last... have your custom classes set 1 of each class just incase you are thrown into a new class. I played support last night and it threw me off gaurd cause I havn't played pm support in a long time.

Also make sure you got gold armor if possible.. youll live a lot longer and an overheal will be more effective on you.

Also if you got a good host please let the captains know so you can host the game...

Routine: Captains pick players, captain invites players into party. Host invites his party team first then joins the other party and invites them.

Captains inform players of duties and class they play or want to play, game begins, no juice, usually no bot buying, ejectors on, bullseye on.

What do you do with all your money? Upgrade the moneyball turrets level 3, max your skills you use, buy anni and ejectors to help out pushing bots.

Those punching bots for juice are usually called out and will be jumped. I discourage it but it will happen.

Also one last thing please get a mic... dollar stores have cell phone mics for 2$ and they have the smaller plug like the standard xbox headset. They will work and you can hear and listen to whats going on. If you can't afford a mic this is ok but please make sure there is a way to hear us through tv speakers or even kinect as much as everyone hates kinect mics. Im canadian so the ones in my region are: dollar tree, dollerama, giant dollar. I know dollar tree is american so they might be in your region if you google.
Virgin usually sells the little earpeace mics for cell phones and they work well.

IE: "Gunner is one hit mid on the dome... someone shoot him..."
If you can't hear this then your letting a player get a way to heal and recover to kill someone else.

IE: "Anni is up... someone buy it"
If youre team doesnt buy this it could be fatal if theres a ton of bots on the map near your ball. Also if you buy it this stops the other team from buying it and can give you an advantage on map since it hurts players too. Kills ones with low health.

IE: "Bots are about to breach left lane and I'm dead"
The person covering this lane pushing the bots has died... switch lanes and get rid of the bots so your ball doesn't drop. This is where non bot slaying classes might need to step up to kill the remaining bots.

Support: air strike, drop firebase in path
Assault: ejector, bomb 3, charge 3, grenade launcher
    Gunner: slam and motars, grapple
Sniper: ice traps, explosive shots, flak, grapple
Tank/Assassin: this is your normal duty cover your lane or help the other lane when needed

Anyone with questions please ask them here or in game etc.. we won't make fun of you and we want you to learn.

Also you have to remember you are playing to win and get the ball down and kill it. If your not doing this then your bot pushers are being killed or not aggressive enough.

Once the ball is down you have 15-20 seconds to hit/tap it again or it goes back up.
Assassin, assault should be the ones going after the ball non stop. Using long range attacks to hit the ball are also very effective to winning.

IE: rail gun & product bomb 3, grenade launcher and bomb 3, shurikens, air strikes, motars, flak, sniper shot etc...

Play as a team not as a rustclan....

Honestly I think this matchup was the most interesting of the night - they were both on assault and both did great. If you looked at stats you would think that scratchy did better but I think Leo dominated because he was responsive to calls, pushed forward, and WRECKED the areas he was needed in and the money ball regardless of the fact it would get him killed. He had more of the stat that is not displayed, W's. It was a great example of "make the play at all costs".

Scratchy was good and has some talent, but Leo transitioned from pub play better at this point.

I also have a newfound respect for Smaug's and Mecr0mancer's assassins...

"Slayer" is relative. LeadLP went assault to let Leo get some time on gunner and Lead CRUSHED Scratchy. ( Quote from Scratchy "holy crap, this LeadPMMaster guy is everywhere!!") So, a lot of work ahead but they both want to put forth the effort and I intend to let them.

    more good games last night
again everyone filled in their roles...

sabrew surprised the hell out of me with his assassin since ive never seen him play it and for a guy with no mic who read my one message to stay in the lane and wreck a ball... very hard to stop when your ball is down and hes everywhere.

scratchy was doing good this time trying to win games
smaugs sniper was aggrivating the hell out of everyone which is good
potatoehydes sniper was on mark and kept things back
major was doing good for his first pm in a long time and he brought his mic with him
jake destroyed us when he went assassin

everyone did good and both teams were aggressive

I tried to match up people what i could.. the last game everyone was pretty exausted though we tried to put up a fight. Crimsonskull is always a good gunner.

Leadlp is a great leader and his host tank wrecked me
Toon your a good leader and you always take me out when im trying to win.. most people forget about me.

Again everyone thank you all for coming out and hope theres plenty more games

Im trying to name off what i remember...
for a team with patatoe and sabre with no mics they do well for their spots

one problem though we had were some of the new players kept building rockets on the other nubs.... not everyone remembers or understands....

Also not many people want to or can play gunner except the usual...

Also good control and trying to keep people from tapping the ball...
Every game i played even if the ball was down people put up an effort to defend and stop the 20 seconds ticks of death.

Also, I'm hosting these now so if you get an invite from me don't think I'm being weird, I'm usually trying to get some PM going.

Thanks for that toon, it was weirdish transitioning but having people tell me what to do made it easier haha.

Anyway, I just thought I'd give a heads up that I'm not home on weekends so if anyone sees me online, ignore it because it's most likely my little brothers playing while I'm gone. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Yeah, I talk A LOT about where I want people to go and what I want them to do when I captain.
Thanks for the heads up about your brothers, you should teach them to go offline though ;)

I doubt he has more potential than Kangaroosa, because you have nothing but potential when you start at the very bottom. Still, that guy always gets invited by me and picked first just because I like saying his name. Good times.

I feel like this thread is more appropriate to continue a conversation from another.

For people willing to look a layer below the surface created by frustration of losing and a very competitive nature in the past, Shammas and I have done significantly more good than bad for this community in terms of getting PM's going (I hope the newer regular hosts are learning the frustrations of hosting, and you won't truly know until you include higher caliber players who miserably disrupt the balance when stepping in for someone who quit lol), and also for improving the game of those who came to us for help and really listened to what we had to say, and willing to do whatever it took to get better.

Want evidence of a start to finish product? I remember when I first met Chollo he was your typical pub assault to a T. Decent gun game but very raw skill and zero understanding of the PM meta. He would constantly be picking my brain for advice and challenging the likes of myself and Miracle in a variety of 1v1s and situational practices. Now we love to rag on chollo because he's a great sport about it, but with some help from us and alot of effort on his end he bypassed so many people who were better than and regularly picked before him in PMs, and became easily one of the best and most versatile players ever to play this game, and toward the mid-end of the last era of PM's he really had a strong grasp of the full team meta play on at least 4-5 classes I'd say.

Now I can't speak for Shammas, maybe what he did was his way of being done teaching people how to play anymore and really just wants to stomp with H&S and troll the shlt out of anyone who's skin he can get under, and better suited only for higher caliber PMs, but I'm willing to participate casually and show the new crowd the ropes, as randomtoon said before, I really have nothing left to prove, and even so acting like I did to fresh blood would be stupid and pointless. Take it as you wish, but I have plenty left to contribute

I would like to say nice job to oTaggerung (however you spell it). He was struggling a bit with his gunner vs. Ominous Satoshi's (nice job going gunner too, btw!) because his support didn't have a mic, but when I took over on support it was a night and day difference. He dominated as gunner because he knew which direction to fly back to and when the incoming airstrikes were mine and no need to worry about. It was so much of a difference that we had them almost fully spawn trapped. He communicates well, and it really shows off how important it is for the gunner and support to be in sync and TALKING all the time.

Honestly, if only two people have mics it needs to be the gunner\support team. But really...buy a mic folks. It is such a big deal that I am not sending any FR's to people who don't have mics (if you already got an FR you can stay). It DOES matter and I promise to not make fun of your lisp.

I spent a lot of time doing damage control retaining playerbase who enjoyed the competitive spirit of play, but didn't like the endless amount of circle jerking, yelling, "cliques".

If you keep the atmosphere clean and productive, new players are going to want to stay because they're actually learning. I swear I was the only one to take a captain roll literally and try to coach the newer players through. Specifically, that means giving constructive criticism and situational advice, not claiming everyones retarded.

I actually just watched a video chron where you guys are going off on rhyballs for not healing your assault. You really dig into him for not giving you a heal and you really come off as if you were completely right, and he was completely wrong. You didn't even wanna hear his side or what happened, which is a shame.

What ended up happening is you were extended forward, and charged back to mid looking for the heal. You can see in gunked's stream that the second you get within distance to rhyballs, he dies. I guess you don't notice that because you then drop and ask for a heal multiple times from him. 5 seconds later you die and go off claiming you were right next to me that whole time, you couldn't heal me?

Although these are competitive private matches, they should be for fun. If you end up loosing, try to fix the problem, even if you aren't the problem.

We've been playing for 2 years.. we know the meta-game. New players don't. You can either yell scream mute and teamkill them miracle style, or you can try to teach them how to play as a team since it's a team game..

I want to point to another player - Mazo93. He saw the PM list in a lobby, I sent him an FR even though he was a level 12 or something slim bot just because he had a mic, and let me tell you that guy has improved DRAMATICALLY. He is spending most of his time on assassin since it is what he is most comfortable with but he never turns down an invite and never complains. He went from a 2-x-28 first game where he was constantly out of position to actually putting in a fight for the anni and controlling the bots in his lane dilligently. He might still be last picked and he still struggles a bit with his callouts but hey, it has only been one weekend...

    Also, we have changed team picking. Here is how it worked the other evening;

Coin toss, winner gets to choose either first pick, or second and third. Captain who picked first then gets 4th and 5th, etc. I don't know if this is better or worse than the way we have been doing it, and would like opinions. I think it might favor captain 1 too much, but it really depends on the lobby. It is faster though, in my opinion.

    Captain 1
    Pick 1
    ----------
    Captain 2
    Pick 2
    Pick 3
    ----------
    Captain 1
    Pick 4
    Pick 5
    ----------
    Captain 2
    Pick 6
    Pick 7
    ----------
    Captain 1
    Pick 8
    Pick 9
    ----------
    Captain 2
    Pick 10

Again isolating instances where I boiled over and got pissed for the sake of being pissed versus the people I helped improve. I've literally hosted well over five times as many PMs as anyone else and often had to double duty as captain and play a main slayer and forfeit first pick just to get going. If anyone else was out in a position to be anywhere near generally frustrated from countless hours of hosting duties and the off camera times where I relentlessly attempted to get someone to perform a task before boiling over, I would respect their opinion of how I handled th frustration. But nobody was, nobody came close, and I still kept coming back arranging them
