Seems orbital fighters are unwilling to target astreus, or adv sat in many cases. Sure this has been mentioned but my search yields no results. Is this intended???

I find that there are 2 "Levels" of orbital. The first is a high orbit in which all orbital units are launched into. The second is a lower orbit in which all orbital units drop into once they are moved after being fired into the initial higher orbit. I found this weird too, but I bet the astreus & adv sat you speak of has not yet been moved since their launch, and is thus targetable, but un-attackable.

This is likely to get patched out eventually.

I hope, and I know the layers you speak of, as I see them to. If I recall however the fighters would target sat at that level before. Never Landers until they move.

I find I need to move the Avengers around the target until they get into a favourable firing position. They seem to have trouble getting close enough maybe? They get stuck about 25% of the time unless you help them, it seems.

Orbital fighters are currently stopping just short of firing range when you use an attack order. I am sure this will get resolved but for the time being you have to use a move order and move them close enough to the intended target, to fire.

I think they got close enough on the shell plane, but fail to get within range on the z axis. I noticed that whenever they failed to fire after an attack. Upon manually commanding them they either rose of fell then attacked

Avengers are also so fast and nimble that they can't hit each other when moving+turning. You need to really micro all Avenger battles because if you let yours sit still while he's flying his around yours, he'll wipe you out and barely take a hit.

They should probably just fire missiles, like fighters.

    That's an unforunate bug.

I created a tracker for it. Y'all should chip in and give info.

No way. It means the balance isn't just build 1 more than your opponent

They are space units. Lets have them use a steady laser beam vs eachother. That would be totally cool! It just lights up and burns until the unit dies.

i would also like to see the avenger be more self sufficient, the planes do a good job of that, but you literally have to individually command the avengers.

also it appears to have a glitch in the code where they shortened the range of the avenger, but it thinks to stop before it is in range of the target. so you have to move your avengers past the target; telling it to attack a unit is useless.

Well.. because they have laser bolts they can actually be defeated by inferior numbers of the same unit which are used more effectively.. . if they had laser beams it would be build 1 more than your opponent again.

Not necessarily. If I have 10 units to your 12 but I can maneuver so that more of my units are within firing range I win in spite of your superior numbers.

That's true.... I'm fairly sure that missiles re-allocate targets (I've noticed it happen with both catapults and hummingbirds), and air battles take place so quickly that I've never seen it happen. It's theoretically possible.
