I like metal planet a lot, even if - they pose problems for balance (in the case of metal extractors everywhere) - but only if a player has access to a metal planet while another has not. *This would be a problem with any other asymmetric start position, including starting on the same planet with uneven terrain distribution. Agreeably, the problem is worse between a metal planet starting point and a desert starting point - or don't quite make sense lore-wise (why would a Full Metal Planet (c) require to plug Mex on some particular metal point ?) - such gigantic construction would have to contain some kind of defense/attack/space faring systems, or be utterly broken by thousands of years of war (...) ON THE OTHER HAND: - Metal space platforms (two-faced or asteroid-like space base) as an Asteroid Biome would be cool and totally make sense. I don't really see how pathing, air units and artillery would work on such objects, but the problem already exists on traditional asteroids. Other asteroid biomeS ideas: - Space Fungi - Crystal Asteroid - Comet / Ice Asteroid - Alien Artifact or other inert ship (Rama, 2001-Obelisk or whatever you can think of) - Space Easter Egg (releasing a Giant-Planet-Eating Bunny when colliding a planet)
"Extra" or "Bonus" biomes are something that Modders will most likely do and Uber will encourage. Currently there is a lot of work that Uber needs to do just to get the Biomes in the Kickstarter into the game, specifically Metal Planets and Lava Planets with pseudodynamic lava. Also pseudodynamic water.
No worry, I'm just dropping some ideas, not demanding anything :mrgreen: I guess I will make some mods when I get my hands on the game. Also, I think Kryptonite asteroids would look super cool.
you know I remember seeing a live-stream about the planet editor and noticing under the biome tab the crystal biome. I even remember seeing a mars and acid biome.
I'd like to see ice crystal formations, somewhat similar to the crap from the movie Armageddon, but adapted to PA's art style.
