if an ennemy throw to my base a kinetic asteroid, o you think that it's possible to crush it with another kinetic asteroid?; it would be awesome ^^
I know that I'm totally making battle-comets. Slap engines on an asteroid but instead of ramming it into a planet, stick some bombardment cannons on there, send it in an orbit around a planet, and start the invasion! Firebase and mobile death platform all in one! Asteroid v asteroid, though? You bet it's going to happen. And it's going to be awesome. I mean, think about it. What if all both players start on asteroids, and there's a planet in the center? They stick some engines on and some planetary cannons, go into orbit around the planet at the same time, and all of a sudden you have some intense warfare, all while both are trying to take control of the planet.
Mmm.... Asteroid on asteroid. That's my favorite kind of action. No but really, if the game engine is not able to accommodate this... Uber-fail.
awesome. It's good to see the interceptor rockets, but what's that going to do against a gurt big asteroid, really? Still, the amount of debris from two celestial bodies smashing together is going to create a lot of high speed burny fallout.
Damn, Neutrino... after cringing at the pressure urablahblah set forth... you really made a response like a champ.
"Uber-fail" was just too easy. It doesn't help that I find myself speaking like that occasionally. Once anyone attachs giant engines to a hunk of rock floating in space, I think they're gonna feel like an epic starship (rockship?) captain. "Mr. Sulu, plot an intercept course."
Ok wait. To sum it up: we can move asteroids freely around the stellar system (given enough resources); you can build on the asteroids what you need for your goals; We can make said asteroids collide with each others!! ; Well guys, seems like we got a better alternative to space ships!
