Doubletapping the (edit) left joypad up would give a burst of speed forward. It'd be semi-handy and also hilarious if you sort of did it in an uncontrollable spiral. Hard to hit, hard to steer. Don't hit a wall. Back twice would do a loop-de-loop. Left or right would do sideways barrel rolls.
