Curious how many seasoned Assaults upgrade to charge 3 for grapple - seems nice for ring outs and cc but leaves you vulnerable.

I like to keep it lv 2. However, when people start juice chaining, I upgrade to lv 3 to keep these fuckers out.

lvl 3 is a big waste of your money, that 400 could go to a juice machine. When you get lvl 3, its the same dmg as lvl 2 and does same knock back if you hit them correctly, your also not vulnerable at lvl 2 without the grapple. When you try to escape sometimes with lvl 3, you might turn around to charge away but grapple an enemy on accident and get yourself killed because now you took the time to go through the animation, which gave the other team to catch up to you. So save yourself some money, don't get lvl 3

    lvl 2 is awesome.

And the grenade launcher grapple is useful if you know the trick to change weapons during a grapple/taunt.

I actually love LVL 3 Charge. Yes, it does leave you vulnerable, but then you just don't use it when you are being swarmed by 3 other guys. That's why you have a LVL 2-3 Bomb for a group of enemies. And if you really just wanna Charge a small group, use your Jetpack for 2 seconds and charge them in midair. Assaults can't grapple in midair, so you fly on your trusty Jetpack and while you fly though the air, kick all the bots in the face to make sure you keep 'em separated. Then recharge time is faster with the higher LVLs, and the only thing better then getting your skills back fast is getting them back faster, though it isn't really needed from LVL 2 to LVL 3, still helps though for keeping the pressure on. Finally, there is the fact of a grapple kill. Kills are only worth +25, while Grapple kills are worth +50, so it's essentially getting 2 kills for one.

The only thing I don't know for sure is that do grapple kills override streaks? Let's say you have an Uber streak that gives you +100 a kill, but you grapple kill someone and +50 for the grapple kill. So is it +100 and then the +25 of the difference from a normal kill and a grapple kill, or do you just get less for a grapple kill when you have a streak going? Still, even if you do get shorted some cash, I think it's still great to at least build some streaks with and get some easy kills, and then get more of a payout when you get more cash for streaks.

And finally, on Spunky Cola, Bouncers are spawned normally later in the game, and it can really mess up your team, especially if you have a lot of Supports/Assassins/Snipers. Since it pretty much demolishes a single target, and the animation seems quicker on Bots then Pros, I have saved countless teammates from an avoidable death.

I've seen Supports who see a Bouncer and have their Shotgun out and unloading on it, and I Charge in and take care of it, him eventually telling his Italian woman-friends about how much of a hero I was to him, so that I may be surrounded by them while I stay back and spawn Buzzers, telling them how much of a part of the team they are before they martyr themselves on their Bot brethren, while the Tank compliments me by saying that I am "lookin' good", being surrounded by said Italian women.

I almost never upgrade it now. The only times I do are on spunky to deal with the bouncers or if the other team has quite a few assassins that are annoying me. Otherwise I keep the 400 and use it on better things.

I love L3 grapple. Weaken the opponent up a bit, then finish him off with a charge grapple. Then again, I have a skirmisher/hit-and-run speed based playstyle so it works for me.

And the animation is just so satisfying.

I just keep my Assault Grapple to 2. 3 gets you killed to much unless you are playing VS assassin's.

Pretty much only if the opposing team is juicing in our base or if there are lots of assassins wearing armor, as decreased cool-down and increased damage helps considerably in the latter case.
