Assault breaking out of sniper trap really fast

    Not sure what's going on, but there seems to be a trick with the Assault where they're able to break out of traps literally a half-second after stepping in one. I'm not sure if it's a lag issue or if they're doing some sort of voodoo to make the trap fail, so if anybody has some insight it'd be appreciated.

    Its their Yellow skill. Flight or hover or whatever it is. If they kick that on, they break out.

    If they can actually do this, they shouldn't be allowed.
    If they shouldn't actually be doing it, then they shouldn't do it as a matter of fairness.

    I've noticed this too. Ian and I tried to get Heck Yeahs last night - Clubtags [HECK] and [YEAH] - and an Assault broke out of three Ice Traps in quick succession.

    I reported this as a bug a while ago.

    To me this seems like exploiting if it is not intended. And its not like the assault needs any more help killing a sniper. :roll: IMO jet packs should be used to keep you out of the ice trap in the first place, not just used as an easy out to keep you from getting headshot because you do not have to play by the same rules as everyone else. </rant>

    On the original release, all classes could do this by hopping around.. they'd slightly move enough just and eventually, sometimes break loose earlier than they sould. a patch fixed it, but apparently not on the assault.

    The fire melting ice thing would easily mean that gunners and tanks could do it too, leaving Assassins and Supports the only ones reasonably affected by traps and making them almost completely useless. The idea is to keep them still so you can get a headshot. In this instance, I feel that real-world logic needs to take a backseat for the purpose of game design.

    if projectiles on street fighter hit everything they appeared to hit, then shotos and the lame sagat would both be retartedly god-tier.

    yeah, fires may melt both assassins and ice in real life, but lets just assume its liquid-nitrogen-mines for the sake that the sniper really needs it.

    besides, if you fall into a ice trap, you deserve to die, ESPECIALLY as a assault :roll:

    I also heard that the assassin's smoke bomb stops assault and tank charges. In all fairness, they shouldn't be doing that. ;)
