Assault and Spunky Cola

    Played a bit to test out the new patch and I'm not that impressed.

    Bomb change was quite good. I like it overall.

    Charge recovery reduction is just stupid long now. Level 3 is not worth it still unless you could drop the grapple. This skill alone forces at least bronze skill recovery in my opinion for Assault.

    Assault money ball damage is awful now. If you want to keep bomb damage at 450 please boost grenade/assault rifle multipliers up to about 85-90 DPS base. Suggested grenade multiplier of 0.55 and assault rifle multiplier of 0.22 would work well (10% boost).

    Spunky (or rather bouncers) are just ridiculous now. Spunky is a bit more noticeable because of the sheer quantities of stupid contained in that map. You improved bouncers as well as made more spawn and it turns even more into a wait for over time and win via juice rush.

    Overall, I like the bomb change. Spunky needs major reworking to be a proper map and bouncers are now by far the best bot spawn of anything as opposed to be "only" pretty good before. Not sure why you gave them lunge-face grapple. Not enough people complaining about it yet?

    That has always been there. I don't know why you think it is a new thing. That is in fact the only way they can grapple, by lunging at you. If you avoid that one lunge they will just run up and smack you until it recharges.

    Charge 3 is good. I've been saying this for about 7 months. People just don't know when to use it.

    Charge 3 can be good or it can be bad.

    Charge 2 is always good.

    Big difference.

    You often don't get a choice when you need to use it. Guaranteeing a good end point in dire situations from level 2 is more important than the occasional good you gain from level 3.

    Charge 3 is better than charge two because:
    1. It has the obvious faster recharge rate
    2.If you want to get out a situation then press the fly button and dash away, this makes it so that you will not grapple anything you accidently hit.
    3. You shouldn't charge your enemy as a first hit attack, only desporation and generally anything close to you at all gets 1 hit by it or is forced to retreat.
    4. Has immense ringout capabilities.
    5. Simply put you should be at mid range anyways and therefor have no need to close the distance, if you do at mid range you deserve to die.

    Charge 3 is bad because it can only hit 1 enemy, it has to hit head on to deal damage, and if you use it to get away and accidentally run in to a bot/stealthed sin or something, you are going to die because of the time you spend being stuck grappling. Also, until recently, it could be completely negated by jumping, whereas charge 2 could not be.

    But Lv.3 air charge doesn't make you lose more momentum than a Lv.2 air charge does it? If you need to escape you just do an air charge instead correct?

    Correct, but it still has the potential of hitting something and grappling it when you land.

    Bleh.

    Spunky is so terrible especially with the fixed/upgraded bouncers.

    Please either remove from rotation or just quit to another server when it comes up so Uber actually has an incentive to fix it.

    that was the first thing I tried after the patch, and it resulted in grappling a blackjack

    jump+charge usually works fine though. There's no concern about grappling anything if you time it right because the charge will end mid-air. The problem is, sometimes the charge will go nowhere..

    Easiest way to replicate this, try to chargejump off the spawn ring on GrenAdeIII
    Before it was easy to chargejump off then hover to get to the upper ring without burning $50 for the jumppad. Now, for some reason, you travel about 3ft and just wasted your charge

    well, with the nerf, I go for charge 3 now for the quicker cool down time.

    but its not good when 2 sins or any type of combo are near you and you want to charge, only to go into grapple and the person standing by takes you down.

    I'm not following how people think charge 3 is worse than charge 2 now?

    If you don't want to grapple, hit Q before E. Since charge 3 does air damage now I actually really like the patch, and I play assault the most. Now bombs can't completely lock down an area and charge 3 works properly - perfect.

    Or are there some other bugs or something that I'm not aware of.

    The speed of the charge got nerfed, as well as bouncer grapple damage. These are the only things that irk me about the patch. Everything else I loved. The new arena looks, the new taunts. Awesome patch.

    Complain about one thing or the other not both in one sentence. I have never been in a situation where i need to charge through more than one person and the grapple does well enough in a 1 on 1. If its more than that then you realy shouldn't be fighting that fight at all. 2 v 1(you) = dead/ almost dead assault. Now if you are using it ONLY as an escape tool then tap the fly button and dash away, you don't even need to jump. True with charge 3 this will prevent damage but if you only want to escape then it is great.
