I have the basics down now i'm just looking for some tips and advice to improve my game.

I have read all of the assassin guides and while they are helpful for complete beginners, i need some more tactical advice.

With the exception of Hi, Im Snarf's guide there is not a lot of talk on tactics. I don't want someone to tell me how to play as such but i would like to draw on the experience of others.

    My build:
    Armour
    Rate of Fire
    Health Regen

Things I would like to know:

Where on the map is the best place to push bots effectively, or should i patrol the entire lane? (map specific)

Should i push bots in dangerous situations or just let them past?

What maps should I spawn gremlins and what maps should i build turrets?

Any map specific tips? (E.G can smoke bomb into base from middle platform on G3)

Any different tactics for when i'm on heavily loosing side?

Where are good shuriken ricochet spots?

    Thanks in advance
    ~Johnno

My Assassin build is Armor/RoF/Clip Size
Don't use Cloak too much and you'll be untouchable.
    End of story.

Use the dash. All the time.

    Also use shurikens.

Those two things took me from a lackluster assassin to a good Assassin.

So you're a member of the Mediocres now? Good for you. I've beaten Jay and Aaron several times on pub btw. I don't really have any plans on joining a team and playing privates because most of them have salty attitudes lol.

I dunno how many privates we will play, its just about mediocre players having some fun together. Nothing too serious :)

    By dash I meant lunge.

Use the lunge-dash-lunge-dash combo to get around the map quickly.

On G3, you can use that little "corner" trick I showed you.

In dangerous situations, you should get to safety and push bots with your shuruken launcher.

Counter-sniping snipers that stand is really easy if you shoot them by surprise with your shruken launcher.

When you use your shruken launcher, it may be necessary to strafe it slightly left and right of your target so that you get a few hits in on them. The accuracy is terrible trying to hit a moving target repeatedly. By "strafing" your reticule left and right around your target, you can really whittle your opponent down slowly.

"Where on the map is the best place to push bots effectively, or should i patrol the entire lane? (map specific)"

You should cover both bot lanes on every map except Grenade III. You really only have time to control 1 bot lane. Control both bot lanes until your team has map control up to their front bridges. Once you have them pinned behind their front bridges, pick one side where you have either an assault or a gunner on the ground, and help them walk the bots onto the ball.

"Should i push bots in dangerous situations or just let them past?"

Yes. If you have clip size as your bronze endorsement, shuriken the bots. If you have health recovery, figure out a way to lunge/slash the bots and use smoke bomb to quickly escape.

"What maps should I spawn gremlins and what maps should i build turrets?"

Don't every build turrets in a serious match. Gremlins, in my opinion, are best used on any map, but at specific times. If a light class is on the ground, especially a sniper, spawn some gremlins on their side. It'll make them either waste a lot of time, allowing you to push up, or force them back on top. If you are pinned and they are kill farming you on your spawn ring, spawn gremlins. They may take the ball down. Also, spawn them if you have them pinned. Just don't spend too much time in your base running back and forth spawning gremlins. One spawn, maybe two, will do the trick. But it's more important to have you out there than the gremlins, so if you take forever to spawn then, you're going to lose ground on your bot pushing. I just kinda spawn 1 wave if I die and have a lil extra money when I revive.

"Any map specific tips? (E.G can smoke bomb into base from middle platform on G3)"

Best way to escape, on any map, is to smoke bomb jump to the highest point possible, and then lunge away to a lower point. This action is called a lunge jump. Any time you lunge from a high ground to a lower ground, you cover a lot of distance. If you learn how to escape properly with this, bronze health recovery can be so crucial for getting in and killing a wave of bots, and then quickly getting back into the next lane after an escape.

"Any different tactics for when i'm on heavily loosing side?"

Favorite example is steel peel. If they have a firebase up top and have you pinned in your bridge but are only guarding the top where the jump pad comes out to in Steel Peel (especially a support with firebase, assault with bomb, or sniper with ice traps), just run to the back of their base and start killing their bots in their spawn. Their ball will drop in no time.

Where are good shuriken ricochet spots?

Too hard to explain. Just experiment.

If it's a pub, I LOVE the whole top on Spunky. Just bounce them around those glass hallways. Really, that entire map is set up for some great shurikenage.
