Assassin invincibility after failed smoke bomb

I'm sure this has been covered before because it happened to me twice yesterday when I was playing as gunner. Seemed like when an assassin tried to smoke bomb jump that either didn't work or they missed timed and they started running at me and I had dual mini gun full throttle in their face for maybe a full second or two their health didn't move. Could have been after I slammed them, not sure but it was obviously some sort of glitch.

In one instance they managed to kill me but they died after and I got the assist the other time they ran away. It didn't seem to be lag either.

News to me...

If you were playing as the gunner the two times it happened, it could just be the Gunner's glitch. Sometimes when playing as the Gunner, it appears as if he's shooting but he actually isn't and needs to reload his gun.

Maybe that's what it was, I rarely play gunner.

I have seen it where I have dumped 3 (bronze extended) clips of smg ammo into an assassin that had just tried to smoke jump and the health bar didn't even register. Then she turned around and lunge face grappled me.

I just wrote it off as a lag issue but maybe there is a bug. hmm.

I thought this was intentional since its not just a failed smoke bomb jump that causes this (smoke bomb has other functions other than the super jump, you know?)

Certain good assassins have been know to just bomb and slash away at low health targets with the damage resistance smoke bomb seems to grant for a few seconds.
