I was wondering what others thought of which attacks to use in specific situations. Typically if I see any sniper or other assassins I'll just use my regular attack and it will do enough damage to kill, but if I'm approached by a gunner or assault I typically go for grapples.
My traditional answer to most situations is a lunge-grab from behind. Tanks and deployed gunners I'll kill with shurikens (seriously, get cloak level 3 then start firing your shurikens while invisible, recloaking when you reload. You'll eat these two classes alive even at fairly long distances thanks to the auto-crit the cloak gives you.) That said, I've picked off a few snipers and assaults at mid-range that weren't moving too much with this technique too. Surprised the hell out of them! =D I'll sometimes use lunge if a target is particularly jump happy but to be honest I almost never use the normal slashing attack and I've still absolutely no clue what the kick you get from clicking right stick (in standard controls) is for
Yeah I never used shurikens until I learned about the cloak for crits thing. Now I pull them out all the time and people always seem so surprised when they die.
I generally slash on my gold RoF assassin build, but also when pros are grouped up and grappling would be suicide. At least damage someone before escaping when things go south. But I generally use what I feel like fearing from them. Slam, sniper grapple, death blossom, assault charge, all things I'd rather not see happen unless it's something out of my own grapple if I accidentally got a front stab. I've jumped over slams and assault charges after a front stab.
I use skill recovery for my silver endorsement (I highly recommend having it) so I usually grapple when I can since the grapple cooldown is pretty low. But I've started to shuriken gunners just for the lulz.
Man I've been using gold rate of fire since the game first came out, but after looking at the thread where it shows exactly how many more swings you get per second I decided it wasn't a big enough difference. Made a different custom without a rate of fire endorsement. MAN WAS I WRONG
