I have spent a lot of time watching SupCom and Starcraft 2 replays. One big thing I noticed was that SupCom casters cannot easily find army info (he he have anti nuke? does he have a t3 factory? What is his current mass income?) The Starcraft 2 replay system, has a unit tracker on the top left of the screen showing what's on the field or what is being built/researched. Will the Chrono Cam replay have a similar set of tools? In fact, I would go so far as to suggest that the same tool can be used in-game to help manage your own armies like in Sins of a Solar Empire. It could be a floating toolbar similar to the Commander and Idle Engineers buttons in SupCom. Highly accessible, but not intrusive, maybe with a simple pop-out to expand if necessary. (If that was coded in, I think it will help things scale up down the line)? I feel it would really give the player a good sense of control over his army. And like everything else, a toggle to turn it off would keep everybody happy.
Yup, properly conveying such information through the UI, especially across planets, will be invaluable. Some replay-exclusive features are important too though, for example quick player comparisons http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c377/ ... /score.jpg
yes, I think it was an older mod that no longer works on FAF (because similar mods could be used to cheat)
