anyone else notice that it is almost required to have one of these? seriously, who DOESNT run armor. i believe i run gold/silver on all classes xenonox, you dont count, im pretty sure you use some ungodly gift to survive most of what you get yourself into EDIT: somehow this managed to make its way into feedback and issues. hlp plz?
i dont run armor on my assassin anymore. i dont engage pros. you dont engage pros constantly, you dont need armor. you make sure when you engage pros that you see them first, you dont need armor. i can kill a gold-armor-silver-rate gunner with a gold-accuracy-silver-rate gunner if i get the drop on him from mid range or along a wall. ok, let me try my speech recognition  I don't run armor on my assassin anymore. which one would you say is better tho? and also, speech recognition will only become more correct over time of using it. i, however, will not get better. i know to use the shift key. i simply dont. if it was done automatically, id be fine with it. only two solutions i saw were... Windows Speech Recognition and Typing Assistant
I used to run an armorless Assault build, but then I switched over to my Gold Armor Assault to see the difference, and haven't been able to switch back. I miss the damage output of Gold Crit Assault Rifles, but without armor, I feel too vulnerable. Trying out a new Tank build without Armor (Gold Skill Rec., Silver Rate of Fire, Bronze Reload Speed). It's AMAZING, as it is essentially 3 of the best endorsements the Tank can have, but due to the fact that it can't take as much brutality as an armored Tank, I only use it late-game, after I've blown both Clutch Passives.
yeah, but im pretty sure he cheated and somehow got his assault to have a shotgun instead of an assault rifle.
If you miss AR damage output you could always run RoF/Armor/Acc. There really is a big difference but you'll still have to be a bit more cautious than a gold armor Assault.
I have a tank that is armour free, and I will dip as far as bronze armour on other classes sometimes, but I think the popularity of armour among seasoned players and new players alike is telling.
Support has to have at least bronze armor, or a face grapple will kill him all by itself.. and as we all know, Assassins think Supports are easy targets and to keep that being a false assumption you absolutely have to use Bronze armor at the very least. In addition, you have to use Gold or Silver for Regen to keep his skills at any kind of near respectable regeneration time. Which means you only have 1 slot for "fun" and thats either speed or RoF.. not both. The character has no flexibility at all when it comes to endorsements. Laaaaaaaaaaaame.
armor/RoF/health i dont run skill on my support. i run out the spawnroom, hack a turret (usually the left, it is more practical in most situations), go run around wit my shotgun, and when i manage a 2.2 FB, i drop it and hack it. i re-hack that turret whenever it is low, and if i notice someone took my FB, i will find a new home for it, but never stay with it.
My main gunner build is the only build I have that doesn't have armor. I do have an armored gunner build for when it's absolutely necessary (game full of assaults or assassins), but i'll typically run my Crit build because it helps me beat almost any other class in a gunfight, including other gunners.
I use bronze armor for my tank, with either RoF then Crit, or Crit then RoF. It makes both weapons extremely viable. I do notice however, that I can take a lot less damage. Assasin back stabs are actually a problem, but they only get me once every 10 tries.
Personally, I think whoever isn't running gold is using some sort of hipster build. That being said, my Support uses bronze armor because I'm mainly defensive with support and it's a fall back and my assault doesn't have any armor because I prefer to run like a bitch at the first sign of trouble. Though I will admit my assault build was influenced by Xeno. I also like the speed-tank build on occasion. It's such a breath of fresh air. I believe most tank builds that use speed don't run armor at the same time. Basically, armor is my fallback. If I don't have that fallback, I fully intend on retreating all the time.
