Hello, I just bought the game but when I try to download the stable build 71544 via UberLauncher, it consistently crashes while downloading patch 144. Here is the error message, and attached is my DxDiag.txt Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: UberLauncher.exe Application Version: 0.0.0.0 Application Timestamp: 53bb3657 Fault Module Name: UberLauncher.exe Fault Module Version: 0.0.0.0 Fault Module Timestamp: 53bb3657 Exception Code: 80000003 Exception Offset: 0004ab6a OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.48 Locale ID: 1033 Additional Information 1: 0a9e Additional Information 2: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789 Additional Information 3: 0a9e Additional Information 4: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789 I tried running UberLauncher as Administrator, and that didn't help. Hello, Your AMD driver is outdated: Code: Card name: AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series Driver Version: 14.100.0.0 Driver Date/Size: 4/17/2014 19:42:54, 1343272 bytes The download link to the newest beta driver is here: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop?os=Windows 7 - 64 Scroll down to the bottom of the page to find it.
I updated the AMD driver, as you said, but the UberLauncher is still crashing in the same way. Here's the new DxDiag and the UberLauncherLog
This is not a driver issue, I'm pretty sure - or if it is, it may be an AMD specific driver issue: Do you have admin privileges? Is this a machine you commonly game on? (As in, do you have all the standard stuff installed, like DirectX, etc) What directory did you install to?
Yes, I have admin priveleges, and have checked the "run as administrator" box on the properties of UberLauncher. I do a fair amount of gaming on this PC: Mass Effect 1 & 2 Minecraft Kerbal Space Program Farming Simulator 2013 Skyrim War Thunder Star Trek Online FEZ FTL Age of Empires 1, 2, & 3 The above games all run just dandy. I keep my system updated through Windows Update, so I'm pretty sure I have the latest DirectX I installed PA under S:\Program Files\Planetary Annihilation
S: Drive? I think the best directory would be C:\Program Files(x86)\Uber Entertainment\Planetary Annihilation\ for non-Steam players using a 64 bit setup.
Getting the same issue. Updater gets to nearly 1 GB then I see the Data go backwards about 100 MB then I get a stop error from windows. Like the poster above, I also am installing NOT on "C" Drive. I keep that drive strictly for system stuff. J:\Planetary Annihilation Is this going to be another game that I bought and can't install because it HAS to be installed onto "C" drive? I have boycotted UbiSoft for many years due to this issue in a past game.
