Anyone else Played PA with and without Steam? Seems to be less laggy throguh the Uber Launcher.

Saw a post from SXX talking about how the game is less laggy or something when played through the Uber Launcher and not through Steam, so I decided to try it out.

Just played and recorded a 4 way free for all with pretty much no lag.

So, seems that Steam somehow induces more lag. Who knows, maybe it's just in my head. Playing 2 matches hardly produces conclusive results.

Anyone else experience this?

Just want to notice that from my own statistics this is much more often problem for users of AMD graphics cards.

Can't say as I've noticed a difference though I've got a bit of an old card so I'm rocking medium graphics. I'll need to start a match, turtle up and go crazy with the units.

One thing I have noticed is random stuttering down to about one frame a second for roughly twenty second intervals when nothing much is happening, it's still beta so I honestly don't expect a game to be well optimised at this stage but it could be a problem later on.

Both steam and the launcher are lagging on my AMD computer.

I have an Intel and Nvidia combo (650M).

Game seems to run well enough through Steam

Brian what were your settings when you had zero lag? Also do you mean 4 person ffa, those usually aren't laggy for me, scale planet? Try a big 3v3v3

Can't remember the first match. The second match was somewhat small – but there were a lot of units.

Like I said, it wasn't scientific.

However, I did just play a 7v7 Army match. There was lag, but I don't think it would have been as bad.
