Sometimes it's not so bad, because an invite to another party will save you.. but sometimes you have to dashboard, and it is a pain in the ***.
Nah, someone on the boards said all you have to do is sign out then sign back in. I've tried it and it works much faster. This is of course a temporary work-around.
