Well I am wondering about the forum goers and if any one of you play games or have played games competitively. The only people I know of who have played serious (THAT STILL PLAY THIS GAME) are: Deadeye (Shadowrun Pro - right?) Myself (Rainbow 6 Vegas Pro) Anybody play any games really competitively against high competition. Either recently or way in the past? I started playing team based competitive games on GB on the game Ghost Recon 2. NOT GRAW 2. Was an MLG All-Star in 2007 and all that jazz. Ghost Recon 2 Ghost Recon 2 Summit Strike GRAW Rainbow 6 Vegas Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 Unreal Tournament 3 F.E.A.R. 2 Bionic Commando (2 Weeks game died) Wolfenstein Red Faction Guerrilla MW2 Transformers: WFC All of those games I played competitively and was on a top 5 team for all besides MW2. What have you all played competitively?
Nope, I'm trying to have a good time. I often enjoy a single, spectacular kill or ring out more than 'pwning' somebody. When I get the feeling that the other team doesn't stand a chance due to unbalanced teams I can't enjoy the match. I even feel a little joy when a newbie assassin finally gets a backstab on me after I send her flying over the edge a few times. Good for you, you are improving! I played a lot of Demigod in the past and was a decent player I think. But actually spending time on training seriously for a game? That's where you start replacing fun with duty and you would have to pay me before I do that!
Never been to a MLG event yet, but I was suppose to go to the chicago combine for halo 3 with my team. It never happened because one of our teammates couldn't make it to chicago. Acouple people on halo 3 considered my team pro but we broke the team up after a teammate never logged on for 2 months. I was also on one of the top 5 GB hardcore ladder teams for MW2 (ranked 3 to be more specific). Now I got one of the best teams in MNC. Which this team will be going to Brink soon after this game to become pro in that right away. Still hoping they come out with a beta for 360
The first game I ever actually played competitively? Pokemon in 6th grade. I was actually in one of those little crappy magazines for winning a bunch of Toys r us tournies. =P I started going to MLG events for Halo 2 and had a fairly decent team of my buddies for a while, but they all joined the military and I stopped caring. I spent a lot of time playing Shadowrun, but I never went to any official events.
I used to play a few game competitively back in my early days of Xbl. I was Co-Captain for the number one team for Rainbow Six: Lockdown on XBox1, Conker Live & Reloaded, Warpath, Unreal Championship 2: The Liandri Conflict, and both Far Cry: Instincts on XBox and Xbox360.
Everyone knows that Necris are the best. Plus, Brock's Melee weapon can attack people in front of him even as he's running away!
Yes they do.. I played in Goldeneye Tournaments when I was younger in 2v2 tournies. Nintendo counts... like SSB, SSBB and alike all count
Played Ut2004 competitively with a clan iG "Active" ut3tdm pugger Played a little bit of duels in UT, UT3, Painkiller, Quake4, and Quake Live Won a few local Lan tourneys (Even playing Halo on PC sooo slooowwww) I play TF2 with friends but never had a clan to play any organized game. Dystopia is a great mod I played a bit but again never with a clan. Killing Floors is likely the closest game I've had to a team competitive game recently sure its not PvP but the communication and teamwork needed in it to beat the higher difficulties makes it tense, it can take multiple attempts to beat a map. (I really want to see Blitz be the same way, I want to fail missions) I play a bunch of other game but really there is no competitive game these days that's appealing. All the modern shooters suck, I swear its a rehash of Counter Strike again and again. Love racing games but was never super good at them and only recently have even played any online.
played competitive TimeSplitters 2 (yes, it DOES exist) years ago, as well as King of Fighters and Melty Blood. Been playing KoF going on 15 years at this point.
I freaking love love love the Time Splitters series. I was a huge mapper in those games. Some of my maps were even highest voted/most downloaded. One of my biggest regrets was selling my original XBox in which I had 1000's of map that were just mine. Whoever bought that had an awesome library of TS maps.
