I'm really into fighters, MNC is the only shooter I've played in a long while (aside from Left 4 Dead)

Anyways, I like King of Fighters, Mortal Kombat, Blazblue, Guilty Gear, Marvel vs Capcoms and Super Smash Fighters. I main Carl and Hazama in Blazblue, Bridget in Guilty Gear, in Marvel vs Capcom games I main the Hulk, Iron man and Strider Hiru. In the King of Fighters I use the standard Brazilian team, in Mortal Kombat (I only play Ultimate MK3) I main Kabal and Human Smoke and in Super Smash Brothers I main Olimar and Sheik in brawl, Ice Climbers and Sheik in melee and Pikachu in 64.

Anybody else super excited for Ultimate MK3? I miss juggling people to their doom

Are you saying my name doesn't make sense? Or are you saying Deadpool's name doesn't, because my nerdiness would be happy to explain why his name is Deadpool.

Basically, Wade Wilson had cancer, and Weapon X, same doods who made wolverine, said they'd fix it. So they did by giving him a batshit healing factor that basically makes him invincible ot everything but decapitations. So they deemed him a failure and sent him into the failure pit, where inmates bet on who the warden would kill next. Many people bet on Wade, but he never died. Eventually he escaped, and took the name Deadpool to reflect the odds he beat.

It's hard to explain. He was getting bet on, in a underground betting ring, that he would get killed by the warden. The underground betting ring could also be called a "deadpool".
Basically, he beat impossible odds and took the name Deadpool to kind of laugh in the face of fate. Since he likes laughing in people's faces. And cutting them off. And shooting them. But if you still can't understand after this, read the wikipedia article. I kinda used it to find out how I would word that explanation.

Oh I see, so he's a stereotypical badass with no special powers.

    Just kidding.

Well he can recover from anything. He's grown back limbs and if you stab him then he'd be fine in about 2 seconds. But I like him because he's insane. AND in MvC3 (WHICH BY ODIN'S BEARD AND ZEUS'S CHEST HAIR I AM GETTING) he beats people to death WITH THEIR OWN HEALTH BAR

Also, it's a parody of the 90s superheroes with names like "Bloodstryke" and "Deth".

He breaks the fourth wall a lot. I like him.

Sounds like you just like fast, button-mashy action. I'm very opposite to you in that regard. I very much favor SSF4 (and believe it or not, there is totally a strong place for rush-down aggros). I used to play Soul Calibur 4 a lot before that, and that also works at deceptive speed. These games work with fundamentals far more than your capability to combo helpless opponents. I also worked at Smash Bros. Brawl, but found I just can't work it at a competitive tournament. My philosophy on items also makes me an outcast. I'm still really good for a Donkey Kong player.

I used to like Tekken before I found it was a big festival of juggles and wall combos for almost (if not totally) 100% damage. Soul Calibur's aerial control helps there. Again, I place emphasis on strong fundamentals on getting the hits. I do not like emphasis on over-extensive/infinite combos.

There's a method to all the madness. Caruru/Kabal/MVC2/Ice Climber/Blue KoF 6 infinites take a deep knowledge of the game to setup, it's not just simple button mashing. It's not really beating on helpless players, just using stuff like overheads, mixups and mindgames to get passed their defense (Although blocking in Ultimate MK3 gets you killed). And I don't like Soul Calibur because of first of all I don't like 3D fighters and it's to defensive.

I understand that there is a game involved in getting the hit, but once you do have it, your combos are beating up helpless players. At the prime of said game, the initial hit is effectively the combination of all hits in your combo, and that first hit is usually some little thing. Little risk, huge reward. I don't care that it takes execution skill to do. People that play to win at its highest level will practice said combos until they have them solidified in their muscle memory for guaranteed success. Therefore the game becomes mostly about getting that one hit.

Some people like fencing. Fencing requires you to hit once before positions are forced to reset (like a fighter game does on KO). Infinite combos basically turn a fighter game into a fencing match. Extensive, high-damage combos aren't much better. This does not interest me.
