Any idea when we get offline install?

    Does anyone know when we are going to get offline install for a true DRM free game? Right now it still requires you to download the game from the servers, except perhaps for Linux since the download file there looks like it could be the right size.

    I expect it is in the queue but I did a forum search and came up empty.

    Game is already DRM free.... You have to download from server, however once downloaded and installed you can run directly from the 'PA.exe' without requiring a log in. DRM free is not the same as 'give the game away for free'...

    Go to your nearest retail seller and look there? I can get a retail copy of PA here in Slovenia really easy and that doesn't require internet to install. You will however still need to connect to the internet to download the offline mode and create a Uberent account to be able to download that patch. After that no online required as long as you have a quad core CPU and 8 or more gigs of memory. After that


    You will however be missing out on all the new features and fixes they are going to put in.

    Game already has offline capabilities now :p has been for a couple days now.

    Make sure you have Local Server turned on in your settings menu.

    Either go to a local store, or just download the game and play.

    The game is drm free and you can play LAN and offline battles.

    You have to download the current version once using the Uber-launcher. Wich is simply because the game updates to often to provide a standalone installer.
    From then on you can just directly run the PA.exe and not log in. You can fully copy the game files to other computers. You only need the login too: Update the game, play on the Uber-Online Servers and get access to your unlocked commanders (PlayFab).

    Note that for LAN play two rules seem to apply:
    - The host (first user) has to come from the same computer. The host cannot come from another computer for now (no truly dedicated servers yet).
    - No duplicate display names. It usually takes the username of the last logged in user as Display Name.
