Uber nerfs juice gain and people still complain about Juice. So obviously less skilled/experienced players are going to complain about Juice. Why? I think its because they don't know how to stop it. This creates a level of frustration because they feel like there is nothing they can do to stop invincible (in their minds) juiced pros from wrecking their base. As experienced players, rather than generically saying "Learn to counter it" OR giving out great advice for it to only fall through the cracks of the forum, I think it would be nice to be able to point to a place that shows them how to counter it. A bank of awesome anti-juice knowledge, if you will. So I think it would be nice to have a guide or collection of guides (per class) that outlines the best ways to counter juice as each class.

That way, when someone complains, we can point them towards the knowledge and then they can either choose to be ignorant or actually get better at the game. Hopefully this will quiet/educate the whiners.

    • Class-specific guides
      Assassin - not taken yet
      Assault - not taken yet
      Gunner - not taken yet
      Sniper - DEA Sniper Guide
      Support - not taken yet
      Tank - not taken yet

    • General Guides
General Tips - not taken yet
Map Specific Tips - not taken yet

Post in here if you want to volunteer to write a specific guide. I have already gone through the entire Strategy and Tactics section and didn't find any anti-juice guides. Please only volunteer if you have solid results and experience in stopping Juiced pros.

Um we have all posted ways to counter a Juiced Pro. It's been the same since the beginning the only difference now is less juiced Pros coming at you.

That's a good idea. I usually feel dirty playing a sniper but I will try out your guide to defeat juicers.

My main complaint isn't that there is no way to stop juice - I know there is. My main complaint is that the game is NOT AS FUN when it's all about controlling, containing, and abusing juice. That's not what the game should be about, and it becomes less fun when that's what you end up doing.

I'm not saying people don't post ways to stop Juice. I know many players spend time on the forums trying to explain the best ways to stop juice. But then it gets lost in the cracks of the forum. Sorry, should have clarified that better I guess. /editop

What I am saying is that lets put that knowledge in one place. So when people complain, we can just point them in that direction. Would be good for the community, no?

That's the beauty of stopping juice. Once you stop it a couple times, the other team has either wasted their resources or lost map control, enabling you to not have to focus so hard on anti-juicing and worry about lane/bot control and pro pushing.

Im going to have to disagree.

The elements to control and contain juice are primarily bot control (to keep them from juicing on your bots) and pro killing (to prevent an abundance of cashflow for them to buy juice constantly and to end their lives short before they earn juice). The game was meant to be about these things, just now there is less focus on pure pro killing and the strategy with bots comes into play more.

A game based more on thinking and strategy to me is MORE FUN than wondering who's reflexes, aiming, and bunny hopping skills prove greater.

And this is why I can't stop playing this game. Just enough shooter to satisfy that part of my gaming fun and just enough strategy to satisfy the other part of my gaming fun.

I agree with your last statement. I like MNC because it is not a pure twitch shooter. That is what I like most about it. I don't want TDM. You can't do well in MNC if you TDM.

However, the entire point of the game is the money ball - which already should be enough incentive to protect bots, so it's not necessary to have the added element of juice. Juice, as it is now, is THE game winning strategy and it's not necessary. It shouldn't be any more necessary to win or a game changer than bacon.

    IMO, of course.

Sniper: Put traps near your turrets, headshot said juicer, use you're rediculous grapple to ring out/stall.

Tank: Charge (2 is good 3 is better) then jet gun. Stickerz. Rail gun grapple if you can for ring/stall. Ask Hudson I'm not a tank.

Assault: Charge charge charge. Use the bomb for ring/stall. Grenade grapple as last hope stall.

Gunner: Just keep on shootin em just like you do everything else. mortar grapple for last hope stall.

Assassin: Grapple for stall. All ya got. Try and get em when they're suit is lit up, an ounce of prevention right?

Support: Shotgun will eat through a juice quicker than anything I've seen. Fire base is another ridiculous juice eater, but situational. Shotty grapple for last hope stall.

^ that. Except I'd probably not try to jet gun anyone, go straight to rail grapple (the stun from charge 3 sometimes means you can choose what angle to grapple them at which nabs easier ringouts). Also the gunner's slam is quite effective at ringouts/stalling.

Another thing is the gunner's level 3 grapple is actually EXTREMELY AFFECTIVE. It does pretty good damage AND sends the pro flying. It's like the sniper's golf club except it's a massive metallic baseball bat of doom.

Lets get some actual guides up people! Or not, whatever... :?

I know there is a wealth of knowledge out there and you 99s (I'm only a 91 right now) have serious experience that can be shared to silence the whiners once and for all.

That way when someone says they can't handle Juicers, we ask them what class they play and then point them to the guide. Or if they play all classes, we point them to a general guide that details things to watch out for and how to prevent pros from gaining juice.

Example of something in the general guide: Don't build Laser Blazers if you can't watch them. Otherwise a Tank may come by and get Juice very quickly.

Support and Sniper both gain juice slower. That is a fact. And they were two of the quickest juicing classes.

Assassin doesn't gain juice any faster inherently, but they can kill bots faster due to their Katana doing increased damage. So Assassins may be able to juice faster.

But there are ways to stop all of it. Which is why this thread exists. Once we get guides up you will be able to see how to effectively stop/slow any juicing the other team does.

So I'm a really big dork and I like to watch videos of people tearing it up on Monday Night Combat. Anyway, if you want to see an example of how to handle a juiced assassin going after your rockets, check out this video of Xenonox playing as an assault:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7R3BkjXOkgY

The textbook defense takes place at around the 2 minute mark. He charges and bombs. It's good stuff, folks--the way the game is meant to be played.

Can we use the Heal Hurt gun on juicers again? Or will it continue you give them health back.

without getting bogged down with detailed methods that most newbies will forget just take this advice, if your against a juiced opponent create space between you and them until they de-juice.

i.e. any ranged grapples, throws or charges (towards or away from the juicer) are effective,if you can dizzy them then even better.

plus don't forget to use the environment! have you tried shooting someone on a bounce pad?

as a support try and distract the juicer with a random turret, i've found most juicers will go for the turrets before the pros

I was able to play for about 2 hours today before going to class, and I msut say I am VERY happy with juice now!

When I play turtle as support, my shotgun+shotgun grapple WREAKS HAVOC on the poor guys. Since rockets are so much cheaper now, I can easily afford to get them up to at LEAST level 2 if not 3. Two hacked 2.3-3.3 turrets plus my shotgun ends juices insanely fast, specially if I pull off a grapple.
