http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L5u10xg4 ... r_embedded my face when it happened. You just never see that.
That took longer that I thought to get on youtube. I have to face the facts now, Anderson is unbeatable. Ever since he fought Travis Lutter I was "hoping" he was going to lose each fight. Although if he does fight GSP, GSP will destroy Anderson IF it goes to the ground. Chael and Dan Henderson were able to out wrestle Anderson and GSP is a much better wrestler then both. [Edit] Listening to the Post-Fight Presser and Anderson says Steven Segal helped him with that kick. Chuck Norris needs to train a fighter so they can roundhouse kick Anderson's head off.
Imo, GSP is going to steam-roll Shields. His last fight Jake didn't look all too impressive. GSP is on top of his game and is improving everyday. I am kinda pissed off because Dana and Joe keep dicking around with Jon Fitch. He IS the number one contender and yet he is made to wait and do another fight.
Looking over the gallery of tonight's fights and figured I'd share this picture. Demitrious Johnson vs Kid Yamamoto
It would be huge. I personally don't see it ever happening, though. Who would move their weight class?
It's already been figured out. When, not if, GSP beats Jake Shields he is going to move up to middleweight and stay there. Everyone has been trying to get GSP and Anderson to fight each other since the Patrick Cote fight. GSP is all about being healthy body, mind, and spirit. GSP has always denied going to any other weightclass just because he is right where he wants to be health wise for the welterweight division. Now GSP has stated recently he wants tougher competition. Who tougher then Anderson? I mean it's a fight Zuffa and every MMA fan has been wanting to see for a long time. So yeah when they fight GSP is going to retire the WW Belt and then stay at middleweight. It is rumored Anderson will do the same thing but move up to Light-Heavy.
If GSP wins, they're going to do a catchweight fight. Meaning they choose a weight in the middle that they both can meet.
Catchweight, No Belt. Afterwards GSP moves up to Middleweight. Which means both the WW and MW belt would be up for grabs. (If rumors are true of Anderson doing the same) Technically they both will still have their respective belts but if they turn down a Championship bout they forfeit the belt. In the case of any "contract disputes" there would be an Interim Belt made and basically acts as a placeholder. After everything is settled both belts would be united in a fight where both "champs" fight and the winner becomes the "Unified Champ." Oh yeah. Catchweight fights are where fighters for two different weight division decide to fight at a weight somewhere in between. Fights still count towards their records but not for their respective weightclass.
Georges would beat Silva? LOOOOOL. @Stretch I know that this post was from 2 years ago but come on. Only Canadians and people who don't know jack about combat sports will believe that Georges would beat Silva. And FYI, Andy is not the GOAT. Fedor is.
Yeah. 2 years ago my opinion has changed. Anderson Silva fights are boring because we all know what's going to happen. He's just going to destroy everyone... except for maybe Jon Jones. Also Fedor was and still is a horrible fighter.
Doesn't surprise me to hear this from you since you're also the same guy who said takedowns win fights and damage doesn't. Did you start to watch MMA around TUF 1? Lol.
Correction I said you can't judge damage since it's subjective, as well as pain. Also I "trained" MMA before it was a thing. Did wrestling in school, parents enrolled me in Taekwondo classes when I was a kid and I did Boxing for fun when I was a teen. Can't say for certain when I started watching "MMA matches" though.
Damage matters the most. Only in NA where you can fvck up your opponent the whole fight but still lose in the judges' eyes if you get taken down at the end of a round. Japan and Brazil judge fights by damage. This is why I loved PRIDE. Have you ever watched a fight outside of Zuffa/Bellator?
