This is not a bug and yes I do realize the game is early alpha. This post is more of a wishlist when it comes to areal units. Thing that impressed me the most in TA was how the Air units behaved. Planes were banking, rolling and doing all kinds of realistic stuff while on patrol or attack run and I really hope something similar will be implemented in PA: http://youtu.be/QcBH69vILkM?t=2m15s
I gotta admit that does look nice. After taking a closer look at the scout planes in PA zoomed in and in manual camera mode, they actually do bank slightly, its hard to see unless you are at the same height as them.
The trailer was all CGI. The cake is a lie! I'm just happy my air construction units are no longer landing to build stuff.
But the trailer was to show off what the game will eventually be like, not exactly like but similar, including the planes
In the trailer there are only bombers and bombers are very nicely implemented so far. However, and God knows how many times i have asked if it was planed to have the same behaviour for Air Fighters, but, never, never, never got the slight answer from Uber. So i just keep waiting hopping for this to be changed (hopefully). The only thing i do not manage to figure out is why it was so well implemented for bombers from the very beginning while Air Fighters are moving like ground units.
TA was a superb game ahead of its time overall and it shows not only in how the aerial units behave but also in other small details: in the rocking of the tank from recoil when it shoots, a spent shell flying out from Vulcan or Bertha when it was firing, etc, I think there were even little puffs of smoke comming from the guns when they were firing. The game was 3dish but the units behaved amazing. If PA will have this in the future I will think my life complete!
I do agree with you. TA is just waiting for PA to take RTS genre one step beyhond. And PA can do it. It's a lot of stuff to reach and improve TA quality. And Uber can do it. I'm still having great times playing TA or absolute anihilation.
