Air striking the spawn?

While playing a couple of matches tonight, I noticed that I was playing against of bunch of players with the clan tag [DeS]. As one of the games reached its conclusion, I noticed that one of their players, by the name of Chronicle (only weirdly inter-capped and with numbers in it) threw his support airstrike into out spawn room and killed a bunch of us. My question is, is this a legitimate tactic? To me it seems like a pretty underhanded way to score cheap kills, and I was just wondering whether it was a glitch or not. I've only been playing for maybe two months, but I've never seen it before. It was pretty frustrating.

It is an exploit within the game and I am sure Uber is hard at work trying to fix it.

Also, I am going to lock this thread for safety. This is a pretty hot topic around here and we don't want it to get out of hand.
