Error. Does not compute. Both fighters AND interceptors would slaughter ground attack craft equally well.
yeah, I'm pretty sure fighters = interceptors they fill the same role they are just different names for the same thing. If anything an interceptor is just a faster fighter so if that's true interceptors would own the skies.
So like a kind of heavy fighter vs light fighter? Heavy fighters kill transports and bombers by being heavy enough to carry fully tracking high damage weapons, but with a long cool down between shots, and are unable to avoid other tracking weapons due to their size and speed. They have enough HP to be protected against aoe AA used by most ground AA. Light fighters kill heavy fighters, but can kill transports and bomber in numbers, but have low damage non-tracking weapons, no cool down between shots, but are able to avoid tracking weapons due to their small size and quick speed. They have little HP and so are highly vulnerable to ground based aoe attacks. like that?
I don't think we need something like that; simply forcing air units to operate as support to land units solves all air problems and increases depth of gameplay. Too many people ignored the thread I put up on it, so, reproduced here:
