The game was running decently before. I have tried uninstalling, using --nomods in the steam settings for the game, deleting the Uber Entertainment Downloads folder, nothing works. Any help would be appreciated. Here are my log files. (Please don't point out how the machine is below minimum spec, I know. And it was working before, so clearly it is a new issue.)
I updated just today, and when it stopped working, I reinstalled the game. Steam is prompting no updates, do you know why that is?
After returning to the historical build, the game now properly launches. After loading in it does prompt updating to a new client.
You might be limited to playing AI skirmishes now. Besides trying to run the game on half of the minimum specs, your CPU is about 10 years old, so as the game is upgraded to take advantage of current technologies, you might be left behind. For instance, the current builds no longer support MS Vista or any other 32-bit OSs. https://planetaryannihilation.com/news/64-bit-the-future-of-pa-and-titans/ https://planetaryannihilation.com/news/translations-ai-and-modern-update-113132/
Like I said, I'm aware the system is extremely old and below minimum spec. But the game was running before, and now crashes on launch. Is there anything I can do to resolve the issue for this system?
Your best bet is to open a support ticket and maybe a dev can help https://support.planetaryannihilation.com/index.php
