Hey there. Due to the amount of bad players currently in the game who don't enjoy the game as much, because they just get destroyed by better players I decided to try this whole thingie here. The point of this is to teach new/bad/decent players how to play each class and hopefully make them better players. How does it work? A player gets "recruited" and a "teacher" gets assigned to him who will teach him how to play. The "teacher" should tell him about how to avoid deaths, how to use his skills properly, to not go for that kill and so on. As it is we have the following people willing to help with the classes he will teaches: OD (Assault) Myst (Assassin) AWPTEAMOOSE (Sniper and Tank) TheWilder (Assault) *Magic* (Sniper) Mr.GayFace! (Gunner) Velijah (Support) Vlane (Assassin) zarakon (everything except Sniper) Though you can bug everybody in Raw Messiah according to AWPTEAMOOSE Of course some people can cover most if not all classes so feel free to ask them if they can help you. I encourage everyone to advertise this ingame so we hopefully get some better players together. How you advertise it is up to you (I'll do it with a bit.ly for easier accessibility, http://bit.ly/mondaynightcombat ) but please tell them to add me so I can keep tabs on this and organize it if needed. Criticism is encouraged. If you have better/other ideas feel free to post them and if you also want to teach people send me a PM (please don't post in this thread). For great justice!... and success!
Well, steam-based RawMessiah community is not MNC-only, so don't bugger random people there. I meant this list, you can bugger anyone of them or just post in the thread and we'll manage something.
The first step is really just linking someone to one of the guides on here. Soon as I read how to play Assassin, I improved dramatically. Learning the point of the game was pushing bots and furthermore about turrets really helped too. There are so many things in game that arent really explained to new players. Only 60% of people ave finished the tutorial too. The rest is just trial and error, not being retarded and stoically fighting everyone and never running.
Reading guides helps but if you don't know how the other classes work you will never know how to counter them properly. Also there are things which are not explained in guides (how to abuse the lunge, predicting movements and all that stuff).
The very first problem is just going to be aiming skill. All the people on that list are pretty dedicated FPS players and have really good aim. Expecting any new player to have that level of aim is just going to end in disaster. This creates a pretty large divide between in play style that works with good aim and a play style that works without aim.
Not all of them are good at FPS's. I for example suck at aiming (that's one of the reasons why I play assassin). Sure it's hard to teach aiming but that's not what it's all about. There is more to a class than just point and click.
Aiming is critical. All the requirements to winning are based on the ability to do targeted damage. This is a direct relationship to aiming skill. If a player can't hit me with their guns and I can, I will take all of your area in no time what so ever. This applies to every single class in the game. Which probably explains all the completely awful players that think Engineer is a good class in TF2 or that you need more than one support in MNC. They get a skill that never misses and is absurdly survivable. So stupid.
Aiming is and everybody can do it. Good aiming is not mandatory on all classes, it just makes things easier to deal with. If you want to abandon this based on this I you can do that. If so then please stop posting in this thread.
Get people to teach the new players to go after: - Money ball - Annihilator - Bots (including ejectors) - Pros/Turrets In roughly that order. That should be all you need.
Advertising has not worked out well. Hitting CTRL-V in the chat only leaves a "http:" I could probably see this falling apart if we cant get the word out ingame.
I just posted something asking for a trainer, I'll gladly sign up. Consider me a student. I'm lvl. 57, does that matter?
Also something done already by XBox. Anywho, I will be accepting teammates (students is so disgraceful) who can play alongside me and learn the whole understandings of tank and support... Just as soon as I get my laptop upgraded. Might take a month, but i'll post again when I am ready. Sounds like fun, to get to teach using a xbox controller. That will show them.
I don't think level will matter as I'm level 134 and still quite bad as this is my game on the PC. Ever. Also I get angry a lot and rage quit and drop star rating quite a bit. Major anger issues. Smashed glasses over this game lol.
SEriously, the voice chat in this game is pathetic. For a game so focused on team work, they sure make it hard.
