Originally suggested here on the Steam forums. In my opinion, this would be a win/win/win for Valve, Uber, AND the TF2ers. - TF2ers will buy MNC - Uber makes money - Valve gets Steam sale fees from MNC - TF2ers get a game they will probably enjoy - MNC gets a bigger population In terms of an expense to benefit ratio for MNC, TF2 items seem to be an excellent way to reach thousands of gamers who enjoy a similar product. Effective, targeted, advertising.
Actually, every game that gets released on Steam should get bonus TF2 hats. Just to troll the hat elitists . But seriously, I don't think it's such a brilliant idea. It might work, but it'll encourage even more people to cry that MNC is a TF2 wannabe without playing the game.
It gets accused of that without having a TF2 hat bonus. It doesn't matter what people call MNC - this is a surefire way to get more people to buy and play it. Win for everybody. :mrgreen:
Still, the idea seems rather arbitrary. I bet every game developer would like a sale boost from TF2 hat bonus offers. Why would/should MNC get it and not other games?
More and more games ARE doing it. :shock: What is there not to like? Valve benefits, TF2ers benefit, MNC/Uber benefits...
I'm not arguing that it wouldn't benefit Uber. No questions here. But which games are you refering to, then? I haven't played TF2 in a while, so maybe my knowledge is getting out of date, but so far I've only seen Valve and Telltale games being promoted with hats. Are non-Valve/Telltale games being promoted with hats right now?
Alien Swarm don't forget. Note: Not a Valve game, Valve engine yeah, but this is the same Alien Swarm I believe as the one on UT2k4. Was meant for HL but they switched.
Lrn2Read noob lol This isn't anything to do with MNC, it's advertising in the shitty game that is Team Fortress 2 to tempt people into not being such a prejudiced moron if they otherwise wouldn't buy it. Would love it if the hat completely replaced their face with a giant Bullseye face. Then (assuming you play TF2 anymore) people could pretend Bullseye actually appeared and focus fired on that player.

Hang on! They already have a hat that splashes coins everywhere. Make those coins bigger and replace all the wearer's gibs with showers of MNC coins!
correct. what would be better is for people to just hear about this amazing game. anyone got a facebook they wana go on and "like" the MNC page? how about putting your motto or signature on xboxlive to "MNC is best game ever, and only 1600MSP".
