Achievments?

Can you only get achievments if you play online?

I just built, and fired my first Annihilaser and I didnt get the achievement for it :\

The Catalysts were a pain in the rump to build

Achievements are a Steam feature, so yes, they do require being online/connected to Steam.

Although, if you're logged in, and still playing locally, you should still get achievements. But if you're fully offline, Steam has no way of providing credit for the achievement.

I just played a game in Online mode. Played a modified Inner Sol system with a metal planet. Got the Annihilaser, fired it, won...and still no Achievement.

Online mode, Steam, Local Server... no Achievement.

EDIT: The Achivment is now recieved in the game. I guess it takes time for it to show up. Didnt get a Notification ingame though.

I noticed that Steam Achievements weren't showing up via the overlay. I'm not sure if we're missing something to trigger that, or it simply doesn't work the same way any more, but I want to investigate this.

I have seen achievements pop-up from the overlay although I haven't got any achievements since the latests patch

Achievements notifications worked fine when it was first released.
Can't really say now, since I got all but two unlocked (Galactic Annihilation and Team Player).
Someone made a guide on Steam and both are flagged as having issues.

Just used the annihilaser for the first time since achievements, the popup showed like normal.

Good to hear. And we realized our current build actually had a steam stats issue with it, which may be the cause of the problems that were infrequently being reported. Hopefully that's a dead bug now.
