About the UBER forums...

Could something be done about these forums? I go to alot of other forums and this is the only one that crashes my entire webbrowser when I make and try to edit a long post.

I get lots of irritating bugs when making a post that's getting to be long; drag text that sticks to the mouse and doesn't let go, loss of responsiveness often locking the entire browser, extreme slowness.

This is TEXT how can text editing make my computer lag??

What browser you're using? No forum can crash good browser.

Works fine with Internet Explorer and Chrome.

could be worse, have you seen the COH2 forums?

Also check active plugins of your browser. Switch them off for testing. Have no issues on Chrome here.

Yeah I'm using chrome and have never had a problem like this.

Afaik there are plans to switch to a better forums software someday in the future. So yeah, it is known that phpboard isnt really the best forums software.

But neither firefox nor opera really crash from this forums as far as I can tell.

New forums are on the way! Don't have final ETA but it won't be too long.

It will be really good if you can if you change limits for search, it's shouldn't take too long. :?

I doubt they want to change phpBB to SMF, both are really bad for building large communities. It will be XenForo or IPB.

Can we have a new forum software that lets us filter the results of "view new posts"? Because I don't wish to see SMNC topics. They seem to be mostly ethnic slurs, or if they're actually about the game I read them as "jimjamflamflom nubgurkle is overpowered", "the best way to deflangify tricksteps unterheimlich" and "xfjvhyfgyvu sdcghvxyejtfrsyzfebvzwshg fdht"

by the time new forums are implemented, I doubt that will be a problem anymore.

I don't know I use the 'View New Posts' All the time and I never see any of those types of threads you are talking. I actually see a bunch of PA threads.

No, I have the same problem, too simple keywords bring up a ton of SMNC results but actually there's a filter option, but it should be on by default.

Anyways whew! can't wait! I was loosing it over here :roll:

Relic have traditionally not had good forum software for their gaming communities, it's a shame. The earliest version of the DoW 2 community forums had an okay setup, but that was nix'd when THQ merged the web platforms (and never fixed the subsequent mess).
