I was wondering, Uber said in the kickstarter that they would create a unique commander for you. What if you wanted the cybran commander model (Or any supcom commander) Can uber do that or will they have to get permission/rights form either gas powered games or THQ or they can't cause some legal reason. I don't know. Where is Mavor or Garat. (PS: Who made the commanders in those games anyway? )
I'm going to take an educated guess and say "not without permission". The likelihood of that being granted is pretty low in my estimation also. Uber have no claim (legally speaking) to the Total Annihilation or Supreme Commander IPs.
I'm pretty sure the potential cost of lawyers and such more than outweights the 500$ "Cost" for the Custom Commander... Mike
I'm sure they could make a commander 'in the style' of one of those... In design you can take idea from other sources and adapt them. You could probably get quite close without crossing the legal line provided you can prove the model is new and has a few key differences, however it's probably best to keep the design a bit further away from the source material to avoid to many questions...
