Correct me if I'm wrong but, as far as I know I'm the one that invented this jump. Basically charge off a ledge and jet half-way through. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zwH7e-HHXCs
I'm a PC player and I've NEVER seen anyone use this EVER, not even in sunnydove's videos. he mainly tanks.
Finding it on your own does deserve some credit, as it is a very neat trick that takes some ingenuity. I like tank/gunner jet-jump across from steel-peel glass wall to overhead walkway over entrance to base. Saves $50 you would have used on a jump pad. But yeah, for anyone who didn't know, jumpjetting as high as possible off of spawnring and charging, and jumpjetting again for a little bit, will quickly get you half way through ammomule or steelpeel bottom floor.
the gunner cant charge, and I usually do that too. but this has nothing to do with what im talking about...
I'm pretty sure we invented that move during development about a year and a half ago. There was a time where it would take you across the whole map and Assaults could jet off into space.
kk then this is probably new news for the pc players? because i honestly never seen anyone do this, ever... also why wasn't this move in the tips if you guys put it in on purpose, I noticed the jetpack dying pretty fast i thought it was just nerfed on the pc or something...
It was. According to Eka, it was probably nerfed before most of us even knew about this game. Then, it was nerfed again to prevent heavies from spamming like bunnyhop. It used to not recharge, it just instantly recharged after being used. So it used to take you just as high, but it could immediately be used again after the jump. After jumping and charging, you could immediately use it again, making 2 jumps before you even touch the ground. Now, it takes you high once, and without recharging it for a while, it won't take you to the maximum height again. If you charge, it will begin to recharge, but by time you use it you won't have a full charge. Either way, jumping, charging, and jumping again takes you far. It just used to take you farther. The momentum from the charge followed by the hangtime of the jumpjets lets you go at charge speed for as long as the jets will keep you off the ground (half the map). Assaults used to be fun, getting on top of steelpeel by hitting an angled surface with a charge and then flying so you continued off at a high angle.
question for Eka, is that change on the jetpack for gunner and tank coming over to the 360 version as well?
