The year 1999 and a few hundred thousand of us bought this RtS game that took place in space and were all at once enthralled with it. The story line , the graphics (for 1999 were awesome), and the multi-player omg the the wars. This coming from a stint in TA. Well friends and fellow gamers Feb 25/15 this progenitor of many Rts returns remastered and ready to rip a hole in hyperspace. I am so danged anxious if you haven't seen it yet well here it is :

    OMG OMG omg !!!

Oh yeah you can preorder it on Steam now. I was thinking about making a thread but I had no idea how long it had been up so I didn't.

You have no idea how excited I am for this. Homeworld was essentially my childhood and was fantastic. No other RTS has done a campaign as masterfully as this game has. The story moved the campaign along perfectly and the persistent fleet made it much more strategic. Everything in the game was clearly crafted with love, from the level design and music that always seemed to fit the situation to the pages and pages of backstory and technical explanations for the sci-fi nonsense. It was simply a masterpiece, plain and simple.

Jesus, this first flying lil ship thing sounds exactly like one of the Camerata in Transistor.

Yeah I love the homeworld series, the *only* thing that's saddening about this is they have completely left the middle game out (Cataclysm) which was by far my favourite of the 3 (all were awesome) just for:

1: Cataclysm had very unique ships, whereas the primary higaren fleet was very similar to the tiadani in many ways (due to the fact that's where they got most of the designs from).

2: The mechanics available in cataclysm were just so fun, when I played HW 2 I just wished I had the kun-lan instead of the standard mothership. I mean cmon... leaches, mimic's that could disguise themselves as enemy vessels, the heavy point defence drones that could link together to form a massive shield, and the 'Archangel' dreadnought that was totally epic *and* had a re-pulsar weapon sending lighter enemy ships flying! Also ramming frigates for that matter....

I really hope they do Cataclysm remastered as well :)
