A question of host migration

My connection has been absolutely terrible recently, most of the people who have been playing with me know this. What usually happens is we get into a game, in session or just in the lobby. I'm obviously not host and my connection is usually pretty laggy but I deal with it 'cause I'm playing with friends. But when the host leaves and host migration happens the game always makes me host and the game just crumbles. People start teleporting, voices in game chat or party lag tremendously, and within about 20 seconds everybody has left. I have ruined the lobby, causing us all to have to back out and start again.

Why does the game make me host when my connection is obviously so incredi-bad
I insta-nuke lobbies into nothing?
The only thing that is causing this awesoup game to become a pain. Help!
