Has this happened to anyone else? Because there's been this and them getting piled up in one spot even with a base.
Don't play agains the AI on primarily water based planets. They're very buggy on water planets. They don't build any naval at all for that matter.
The AI does not have naval in its unit map and it does not understand that its units cannot walk on water. Then I think it can't expand, because most of its early expansion is done by land fabs. So it gets to a point where it decides it can't afford stuff. It also won't spam air. At least, I haven't seen the AI go exclusively air. So yes. The AI still isn't anywhere close to feature complete.
The ai do sometime work half decent but the map needs to open, resource rich and even then they often do nothing or very little.
Verify your files. The AI works fine. If you give it time in a 1v1 it will attack in Earnest. It's just not as enthusiastic or as smart as a human and takes a while to get going. Step up its economy to 2 or 3. Then tell me it does nothing.
I've noticed it does get stuck on small moon biomes too, radius 400 or so. Builds a couple of extractors and power gens and then just stands there. Sometimes it might kick back into life when you harass it, but of course then it is too late. But yeah, work in progress and all that.
Oh right yeah I've seen that. I think it has a alone on planet check. If that is false, it buulds it's first factory. I think sometimes thst screws up and it thinks it is completely alone on the planet. Even if it blatantly isnt
I've noticed this problem as well, especially on lava planets. Even if the AI is on a fairly large continent, it has a bad habit of doing nothing when it spawns near a lava lake or when it expands to the border of the lava. Then sometimes the enemy commander has no qualms about walking straight into my base and suiciding, though I've had that happen in other situations as well so I don't know if it's related.
