For some reason I decided I may like having a custom-made sig image(even though no doubt I'll forget about the idea and any work put forth in about a week), but I'd prefer doing it myself. So, what free image editors are good enough to bother with out there? I'm thinking of delving deeper into Sumo and GIMP to see what I can do with them, but I'm not certain.
I love Paint.NET - its pretty easy to pickup, but has a lot of depth (hundreds of available plugins/tutorials). Paint.NET is excellent if you are looking for a powerful, free tool that is easy to learn. It also has a huge fanbase who constantly develop plugins for it. http://www.getpaint.net
PhotoFiltre for not-free but cheap, macromedia fireworks is always effective, about as much so as photofiltre, but with a few added layering things as well as animation.
no u I'd use the search function...But it loves to give me zero results or every single post with the letter E in it :|
If you want to use a photoeditor that is on the cloud....OH MY GOD THE CLOOUUUUUUD!...then try http://www.pixlr.com. Completely browser-based, no download, and mimics PS's interface pretty well.
I'd suggest what Scathis posted in the other thread, because I've actually fiddled with it and it's pretty nice. And browser based. And not only for Chrome. http://www.aviary.com/
Huh? I wasn't trying to imply that Photoshop was free, just declaring the most popular photo editors so that the OP would know when making his decision on which editor to use.
Btw, Jessup, you should move this thread to the Art part of the forum to keep things consistent. Same with this: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=6511 Just a suggestion ofc.
Actually I meant about his intentions of just listing the most popular programs, I was just being nitpicky. Although now that you mention it... ... ... ... Yes, there is a 30 day trial that's, you know, free. If you'd like to try out Photoshop, by all means try it, look up some tuts on youtube, etc. No need to drop a large sum of money you might not even use after a month.
