A few of matches I play have a Support on the other team who keeps getting Juice in only 20(?) seconds. Because of him constantly getting Juice, our team keeps our butts kicked. How is that even possible? Sure, two Juices in a row would make sense (if one destroys every turret and a few Pros, that could easily get $300), but seeing somebody get 5 Juices is a row in such a short time seems pretty unfeasible. Even if he gets ringed out 2-3 times, he always come back, Juiced and kicking butt. So, how is this possible?
I played a couple of matches earlier today as a support and had ~$2k with 5 mins left from an aggressive firebase placement, a lot of taunting and an opposing couple of players that weren't shy about marching to their deaths. I could have easily looped through the base 5 times by chain buying even if I got 0 kills each time.
In the beginning of the game it's not likely to happen. But keep in mind, a support can get juice on his own without entering combat in around 45 seconds. Say he has $1000 or so saved up, one can easily juice 5-6 times repeatedly with turret kills, player kills, streaks, multi-kills (a round-the-horn is quite easy with a juiced support), PLUS whatever his firebase is doing.
Yeah, it's quite easy to chain-juice-buying once you have a streak-kill going. The general rule of thumb is to avoid buying Level 3 Skills - those go for $400 each! I generally opt to save up to $500+, get Juice to full, use it up and if I manage to get away without dying - I go directly to buy Juice, and repeat. By this point, I get $100 per kill plus whatever turrets I managed to destroy. After that, it's a matter of choosing to turtle up in base, overhealing everything back to full (by then full Juice), or if I still have enough $, I just buy another round of Juice. Done correctly, you could effectively play the game entirely in Juice mode.
It wasn't mclovin was it ? At first I couldn't figure out how he was juicing so fast because we were on opposite teams then when I ended up on his team I saw him punching bots. I think that's part of the speed juice cause he said he did not use juice endorsement.
I melee bots as a support at every opportunity. Get at least passive 2, pull out the HH and walk with a group of your bots. When they meet the enemy's melee, melee, melee slims first then jackbots. Dont' worry about the HH unless you get hit, then charge to full health and repeat.
Melee = push in right stick on standard layout (r3?) or I think is red on tactical layout. It'll say in the options > controls screen.
Juice, lulz, community status. It's quick, doesn't use bullets or skill and has very little cooldown.
Well, this explains quite a bit. I have now managed to play for several months without realizing that a non-grapple melee attack existed or that it gave increased amounts of juice. Silly me. It is also the missing piece of the chain-juicing puzzle and seems like an obvious target for rebalancing. Presumably it was thought durng design that having to punch bots at close range was a significant downside, the reward for which was more juice. Either that or the power of juice was underestimated. Either way, while the logic is sound, the assumptions are not. I'll go add something about this to my juice rebalancing post. Oh and a side note: I firmly believe juice needs significant rebalancing (you can see my thoughts here: http://www.uberent.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=4313) but I think it should be made clear that people who agree with me should not be directing anger at players who employ chain juicing tactics. They are simply doing what works given the manner in which the game is balanced. It is fruitless and more than a little juvenile to yell at people who follow the rules and win, simply because you think the rules are flawed. And again, I say this as someone who gets VERY frustrated with the imbalance that juice (as currently implemented) introduces. The correct response is thoughtful feedback for the developers to read and consider.
I can get juice in the first 30 seconds of a match. It's easy. Melee bots, pick up juice boxes. Those are great tips. The KEY to it is more subtle. Overheal slims with the gold RoF endorsement. They lose their charge almost as fast as you charge them, so it's just like overhealing a jackbot. Once you've overhealed the blackjack, meleed the first set of opposing bots, picked up any juice dropped and resumed healing ur slim, ur at their door, with overhealed bots and juiced.
