Let me introduce you all to the 3d mouse AKA the spaceball AKA the 6dof device. This thing is a 3d mouse that you can turn and move in several directions. Its mostly used for 3d design and production stuff. The concept is simple, you turn the knob, the object turns with it. I just recently got a used one for $50, its been great with some stuff i have. Here is the kicker: its comptable with google earth. Hopefully you can see where I am going with this: 2 programs where you can navigate a planet. This video will show how the thing works with google earth. Turn the knob, turn the globe. So basicly I am proposing this: Add in 3d mouse functionality into Planetary annihilation that is simular to what you can do with google earth. Navigate the planet and control the camera with one hand using the spaceball, and use the regular mouse to do commands. For uber: the one i am using is made by 3dconnexion and they do have an sdk available. So there is the site. http://www.3dconnexion.com/service/software-developer.html
