Ok so whenever I am playing the Aplha, my game will tend to freeze sometimes randomly. I know this is because it is unoptimized and it is in Alpha. The weird thing is, whenever my game freezes, my GPU load goes to 0% on my gpu monitor. Shouldn't it have the opposite effect and go to 100% usage before it freezes/drops fps? I have an EVGA GeForce GTX 550Ti. Any help would be appreciated.

Tried playing a game with task manager checking the CPU load? This game seems very CPU heavy.

    Your other thread:
    viewtopic.php?f=71&t=47601
Please don't create multiple threads for same problems, it'a make harder to track them and answer.

    You said your hardware is:
Can you please run DxDiag, press "Save All Information" and then upload DxDiag.txt as attachment? Do you have latest GPU drivers installed?

Also when you talk about "freezes" you mean that you only see static image (e.g game window don't respond) or you might control something, but units not react (it's more like network freeze)?

A good deal of freezes are caused by run away processing, where the program goes into a never ending loop and tries to keep processing it. But freezes can also be caused by a wide variety of other things.

Imagine, if the part of the program responsible for feeding instructions to the rendering section failed. It's easy to believe that in the lack of instructions the engine programmers may have set it up so that it does nothing, rather than running away with all the resources it can.

I'm betting something like this is what is happening.

Yes, the program froze/crashed, but what you are describing happening afterwards isn't something to be worried about IMO.

Yeah I had another forum for this but I recently discovered the GPU 0% thing. I also noticed that my CPU usage for the application goes to 0 when the game is not responding. I will have the DxDiag attached. Yes I have my latest drivers. And it's not a network freeze it's a Not Responding freeze.

Thank for posting information, you might see the same issue on bug tracker:
    http://pa.lennardf1989.com/Tracker/inde ... ask_id=859

And there is other people with Nvidia hardware with same issue. Have you tried to change graphics settings to minimum?

Thanks for the link. Yeah I lowered all settings, I guess the alpha just doesn't like Nvidia at the moment. I'll just have to wait for some optimization so I can play. Thanks for the help.

I assume you experiencing them with the 49303 build? We run several NVidia cards in the office (ranging from GeForce 9800 GTs to a Titan) and I use a GeForce GTX 560 at home. The hitches are something I noticed on my work system (GTX 660) today that weren't happening last week. Pinbender, our main graphics programmer, has one of them as well so hopefully he's able to track it down if it's a GPU issue.

Yeah I have been experiencing these issues with 49303 and some previous ones. Build 49303 helped a bit. Idk if it's a GPU issue on my end, or just an alpha issue in general. I'm not gonna complain a whole lot mostly because the game is still in Alpha, but I am gladly looking forward to some optimization updates ;)

Actually, this kind of issue is exactly what you should be complaining about during the alpha. We want to try to find these issues, track them down, and crush as many of them as we can before we get to the beta.
