I've looked around the forum and I have noticed similar problems, but nothing exactly like mine. I start to load a system and after 10 seconds my computer starts to completely lock up. I cant close or open anything. After about 5-10 minutes it loads and I have no problems from then on (until I get about 2000 units). I haven't seen this problem from anyone else on the forum so I am confused.
I built this computer myself if that helps you guys think of any theories.

    Hello,

You have up-to-date Nvidia drivers, but you have an Intel card (out-of-date) enabled at the same time.
    Code:
    Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3570K CPU @ 3.40GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.4GHz
Card name: Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000
    Driver Version: 9.17.10.2932
    Driver Date/Size: 12/14/2012 02:42:34, 12615680 bytes
Here are the options you can take:

    1) Update the drivers for your Intel card. Instructions to update are below:

    2) If you are a more advanced user and you know your way around the BIOS, you can disable the Intel card using the BIOS.

I tried the first fix, but it didn't fix it. I did another test and i found out that it locks up once my system ram reaches 100%. The problem is my GPU ram is sitting at 19%. Unless i misunderstand the point of a GPU, I think that isn't supposed to happen.

If that didn't work, then can you please post a second Dxdiag to confirm that you updated the Intel drivers?

Also, are you running through Steam, the Uber Launcher, or directly through the PA.EXE?

I have 2 monitors and I can only alt tab before it locks up. and the system I use each time I test to see if it fixes is a 3 planet system all at radius 1000.

Radius 1000? Maybe that is the reason your system freezes during the loading process. Have you tried on lower radius planets?

Have you, perhaps, turned off your Windows page file?

    "Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3570K CPU @ 3.40GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.4GHz
    Memory: 8192MB RAM
    Available OS Memory: 8076MB RAM
Page File: 3855MB used, 12792MB available".

How are you confirming memory is 100% used?

Can you run Heaven Benchmark - Unigine for 20mins, so we have more details on how your PC is coping under load.

    Also run Memtest86+
