Xziphid - i think I get the name now

I don't know if that was mentioned before (I don't get the search function to work as I want right now).
But today morning I realised I had managed to get the name almost right from memory (I think I only misplaced the h - common bug in my writing routines).

I began to wonder why and how I could explain the name to others and came to: "Like Zaphod from hitchhickers guide with an X ... "
So what did ZaphodX - youtube caster of PA - do to get a lore species named after him?

Well it could be they just named the Species after Zaphod Beeblebrox himself. And Zaphod X just choose ta name on a similar idea.

But it is a funny coincidence even then

Several different consonants and it seems to be a wordplay on "exhibit". So not as likely.

And the Bolo (Brian only lives once) based on a Brian riding his commander on the object he halleyed.

And those are only the ones we know of. We programms are rarely good at naming stuff so we just take whatever we can get, switch out some vocals or run it through an anagramm generator.
I think Zaphod was around when the lore was being written, so there is at least a chance he inspired the Xziphids name with his name.

I think you found how Zhaphod chose his name. However, getting a race named after him seems like a small privilege when you compare it to meeting the devs in person and visit their offices. --which he did

Pretty sure that Dox is named after a backer. Holkins and Gil-E used to have different names and seem a bit random so maybe those two as well? The only other one that seems slightly out-of-place and so might suggest a backer name is the Bluehawk, but I'm only conjecturing really. There were six unit-name backer rewards claimed, any idea what the sixth one might be?

Perhaps Astraeus, but that got its name very early on if memory serves. Potentially even ARKYD, if the co-promotion with Planetary Resources got that far, but I suspect Uber just chose that name as an homage rather than anything else.

Dox is a current (former?) Uber dev.
