This wasn't in the patch notes. At least not that I saw.

The animation is a Commander explosion for now, but I imagine we'll get a better one soon.

This has been in since the 'incidental smashing' update.

Planet smashes are now proportional, and *if* you smash 2 similarly sized objects they both get totally annihilated :)

Also, when smashing a smaller object into a larger one, the radius of the smaller object determines the damage area on the larger (so although the *crater* is always the same, the actually damage does scale so it's hard to determine where the 'safe' area is when smashing).

How has this not been broadcasted?

I think it was glossed over when they announced incidental smashing (which is what got all the hype)... I remember one of the devs talking about it in a video although I really can't remember what it was now (maybe whilst casting for a tournament, I'm really not sure).

Don't have time to check now, but is the invisible death dome gone yet? Ie when you smash a small planet into a larger one and it leaves the crater - is it pathable now or does everything just die again?

I thought it was pretty much common knowledge? We did a whole minigame centred around it in the AbleGamers tournament.

Not everyone was able to make it to the tournament, and it hasn't been posted anywhere else from what I've seen.

Lovely. i still feel like the planetary engines should be cheaper and faster to build.

But you should require more of then. Maybe its just me, i personally find that it looks better and more satisfying to move any planetary body with 6-9-12 engines like in the kickstarter trailer.

It just gives the feel that you turned this massive hunk of space rock into a massive ENGINE OF DESTRUCTION!.

But still cool pics. First women started with selfies, now planets are taking selfies!. should be a export straight to twitter and facebook option! :D

Hey, did you know they've put a unit cannon wreckage in-game? How cool is that, right?

I don't watch all of the videos posted on PA Matches (there are close to 600 on there after all), and I haven't had time to watch any of the PAX videos.
