Offline mode

Are we ever going to actually get an announcement or address from the developers about this? Honestly, it'd give the mods less to do here than anything else. The community really needs a clear explanation from the mouths of the developers themselves in a manner that anyone wondering about the missing features can easily find. No more responses pointing people to obscure threads from months ago, or single posts from developers on the 6th page of a thread giving an ambiguous reply.

I don't understand why there isn't an official statement concerning the absence of offline and the presence of DRM. At present, there's nothing to indicate why this is the case unless you scrounge through the forums, and after all mention of it has been removed from the Steam page and the official website, it's understandable why threads keep popping up demanding answers.

May I also point out that, in particular, it's the weekend after which the Uber team just spent a couple of weeks of extremely late nights working their tails off and delivering PTE builds at all hours to clean up as many remaining bugs as they could to deliver v.1.0?

Expecting a response this weekend is a bit much.

Personally offline mode doesn't matter that much since I have good internet almost everywhere.
But I bet the first new feature that Uber starts working on is offline mode since everybody keeps asking. I guess Uber first takes a small vacation to regain normal sleep levels, then they will probably start to fix the main bugs in game and afterwards they can go full steam ahead on an offline mode.

Uber have staed in various threads that offline is coming. Uber have stated directly to players at PAX that offline is coming. Mavor himself stated very clearly *on the official launch live stream* that offline is coming. They really have been communicating this, although your earlier point about an official statement in a sticky thread might be a good plan.

The other thing I'd note having watched the stream was that the entire crew looked exhausted. Garat popped onto the couch near the end commenting about the fact he'd been running on 2 hours sleep a night for the last fortnight due to the hours they were working getting all this stuff done for the release build. I can understand why they haven't been very communicative this weekend (although mkrater and forrest have both been helping people in the support forum, so extra kudos to them!).

here's one answer: if the devs had a firm date when offline would be ready, they would share that with us
