I still can't wait until the unit cannon update. I will co-name it the "Raining Men Halleluiah" update.

I can't imagine that it would be that much different than the Noah experimental unit cannon from SupCom2:
    • It can probably launch only a small group of units before needing to be reloaded.
    • It probably can't launch T2 units or Vanguards. If it can it's probably limited (e.g. a Vanguard would take 2 unit slots).
    • It probably has to be expensive enough (between a SXX and a catalyst) that it can't be spammed until late game.
The Noah was ineffective because it was an extremely expensive structure that could only drop a handful of low HP units. With the huge economy in the late game and the less popcorn-y units that PA has, something like the Noah could be quite effective when deployed en masse.

Load the UC with boombots and we have got an interplanetary artillery :D.
A cannon that fires units? How can it ever be overrated? Just imagine yourself dropping lots and lots of units in the middle of someones base.

It is not a factory just because it can store units, more like a storage.

EDIT: Also the UC could be a small factory then, but only because of the pods.

Agree. I used to be a huge advocate of it, but actually orbital invasions feel pretty well balanced right now. It's not hard to get a tele down and it's very satisfying.

while the new orchestral soundtrack is awesome I really would like MP3s of the old soundtrack to complete my soundtrack for the game.

I honestly think the unit cannon could add a whole new "layer" to warfare.
Would be a shame if they wouldn´t use the potential behind the idea.

The other thing that Alpha video highlights is the *huge leap* varrack and co have made with the rendering tech, I mean that looks really flat, compared to the game now... :)

    Concept*

Conception is when it was first created, concept is what the KS was.

Well it heavily depends how the cannon works but being able to drop wherever you want seems like a cool feature. Especially if a battery of cannons could deliver a high number of units in fast sucession - either as distraction or to apply constant pressure.

The current option with the teleporter is pretty straight forward not a bad thing but defenitely different.
