Can't invade AI planet (Galactic War)

Ai has planet swarming with planes.

I dont have orbital tech (which apparently also means no IP nukes)

Everytime I send a force of advanced fabbers they are demolished before they can get the teleporter up.

I have no way of invading this planet; its a stale mate.

Yes I have tried using t2 flak by setting it up.

It gets destroyed too.

*shrugs* yep, the GW is like that currently, and it blows in many cases.

Hopefully we get more options and better card balance, but yeah.

Well, after numerous tries and no avail, the only solution was the del key.



I think nukes should be IP without orbital tech, that'd be the only solution to this.

then again, what if someone doesn't have adv defense tech?

Nukes are always avliable.

But yeah, we need more starting solutions (Or asteroid fields).

I think you may have made an error there bud. It's the other way around, nukes are way more expensive than anti-nukes.

Last I checked nukes were always interplanetary. Especially in GW. But I am not sure if I had any orbital tech while they were.
You can use masses of Astreus as poor spy-satelites. But usualyl just aim 2 Nukes at the center of the AI main base and you hit the commander. Also consider first disabling thier Orbital factories (jsut aim where the Fighters spawn) with a single nuke.
Against AI that is not attacking your planet you can easily overpower any Anti-nukes they will build up (it wastes too many resources on ground and air warfare).

If you are fighting interplanetary having no T2 and no advanced orbital for anchors-beachhead that gives you one chance exactly:
Rush to the planet early and establish a beachhead before the enemy has complete control (especially air superiority). Use Astreyus + commander.

Don't try main-systems without Basic aircraft, at least one T2 Bot/Vehicle, some Orbital Tech and maybe 1-2 Support Commanders. (needs vary by specific system).

Why not use the new Unit Cannon (not) added in the 1.0 release? Seriously though, this stalemate problem gets brought up at least once a week since PA beta - way before Galactic War. Here we are now, with a way to destroy an entire planet with a laser beam, and still no way to win a basic game with two unmovable planets.

Because the unit cannon doesn't work yet.

An it's not like the unit cannon is some magic silver bullet that'll cure all problems either.

I just sent AA vehicles and fabbers on astreus which seemed to do the job just fine

One of the planets/factions is bound to have more resources, being setup better or have weaker defenses. Nuke duel: the one with better econ, nuke defenses, scouting and target selection wins.

The only place this is magnified is in GW, as there is a chance you have neither basic/advanced orbital nor T2 to build nukes. But mostly the AI is so focussed on building up thier ground forces that you can sneak a early engineer on thier planet via Astreus to build a teleport and just Flametank rush them.

You can also mass astraus land them, but it takes quite the legion to do so in a defended area.

i tried that too. They shot the astreaus as they were landing.

How many did you use?And where did you land (I have tried to land in a enemy base once....once)?

The part with the least mex... I figured thats where they would not see me for the longest. I have no idea where their base was because I just couldn't see.

Wierd as hell. I have videos of me doing exactly that... sometimes succeeding, sometimes failing. Usually, if I land, get a teleporter up, and get dox out, I win. I follow with a few adv. fabber and set up flak. The dox and lines of flak usually work. Landing 100 astraeus with fighters and keeping them over flak would dwindle air down even more.

But the better tools for the job are investments. Anchors would defend against air swimmingly for instance. It is a big perk to get them, nothing more.

Generally, I have an easier time with superweapons by default. Until I am the one to discover GW Antinuke doesn't work on Sept.4 build...

Wow, sarcasm really doesn't read through text. And a unit cannon, or something similar, really WOULD solve this problem immediately. Anything that can move your land army from one planet to another without going through a vulnerable structure first would make invasions possible on completely turtled planets.

Yes, the problem is magnified in galactic war, and much less prevalent in online games, but the fact that you can encounter a game-breaking scenario where neither side can win, and-

-you know you have a problem. I just wish we were given a better surefire invasion mechanic without requiring a small moon or metal planet so every game can be winnable.

I used about 30 astreus, 25 with aa vehicles, the rest with fabbers and moved them all at once to the other planet using the unload command so they unload as soon as they get there, I also put an anchor above where I plan to land them. Then when they land I put them on a small area patrol so bombers don't destroy most of them and get to work on a portal which will let more aa through.
